I think BJS would handle the punches better than Lara even though Lara is the better, slicker boxer. Lara would eventually get caught coming back inside and then Golovkin would stop him. He'd just run all through the fight and get caught up and stopped. I think to beat Golovkin you have to smother his punches inside and make it an ugly, boring fight. Ward can do that and DeGale could do that i feel. Eubank Jr and Canelo are tailor made for him. I think Saunders, Eubank Jr and DeGale are great fights for him. DeGale could become the WBC and IBF 168lb champ then GGG could go up and fight him.
Are you guys talking about the same Degale who couldn't keep "Porky" Medina off him? Guy was all over him like a cheap suit in that fight.
Hey rumski, I'd like for you to do a breakdown for chocolitito after this past Saturdays fight vs Cuadras. Should he stay at 115? Should he move back down? I'd love to see a video on how you feel about it!
This is extremely specious reasoning. GGG is far more versatile and cerebral of a fighter than Canelo and there is nothing to indicate that Canelo would even be able to lure GGG into a counterpunching match let alone have success doing so. Canelo is already taking his best option for future success against GGG he is letting him age. Can he actually keep the fight on hold for another three years is the question.
Not at all. I think Canelo's firepower would back him up a bit. Canelo is very sharp and great at countering after he slips a shot, if that was him fighting GGG last Saturday we might have seen GGG taste the canvas for the first time. I think Canelo beats him.. And I also think GGG fans are under rating Canelo's power.
And as far as Canelo being able to lure GGG INTO a counterpunching battle, I think if you look at past fights of both guys you'd see one as the catcher, and the other as the pitcher! Which fighter would you put into those categories? That said GGG is always opened to counters, regardless of who he fights simply because of his style.
Jacobs will test him quite nicely. Jacobs will be the first guy that Golovkin has faced with real power. Jacobs is 6'0 tall, can box on his toes, and has good boxing ability. Jacobs also throws wicked body shots, and throws with bad intentions often. Fighting Jacobs will get questions answered about GGG.
Yeah there is a short video out there with him saying it....He is a Ripper Hatton very funny Man.!!!!
Stevens has power comparable to Jacobs possibly even better while Lemieux definitely hits harder. Both are faster as well and have better chins. By all means hitch your emotional wagon to Jacobs. I need entertainment and Jacobs getting a push will fill that need for my psyche.
Good video as always but you make yourself sound like a Bumlovkinite with all the "he's head and shoulders above his contemporaries" nonsense. As of right now, I consider the Jacobs and Saunders fights EVEN money. He loses to Floyd @ 154 and probably gets KO'ed by Canelo at 155. The Triple Duck will be *35* next April and looked like **** in his last fight against a WELTERWEIGHT - and STILL doesn't have an elite name on his resume. I wouldn't be surprised to see Jacobs good boy Bumlovkin if that fight happens - which it probably wont. Bumlovkin is gonna swerve Jacobs like the Plauge...
What are you basing that on? Korobov being caught flush by one of the P4P hardest shots in Boxing from a fellow southpaw and still not going down, even after Lee followed up with 15 more punches, Korobov's chin is solid. Stylistically, he could prove to be a huge issue for GGG, will he win? Probably not, but it wouldn't be a walk in the park for Gennady, remember up until the KO Lee had lost every round to Korobov.
