Of course he can, he came closer to beating Usyk than probably anyone else. Sure he didn’t bring the same heat after Usyk’s adjustments in round 8 and getting rocked (technically stopped if we’re being fr) in round 9, but keep in mind that the Fury corner was telling him he had the fight won and to coast. Who knows what adjustments Fury himself could’ve made if he realized how detrimental the situation was. I’m excited to see what happens in December.
Of course. And I hate it. Wish Usyk didnt do this rematch. My memory is hazy at this point but from what I remember the tides were turning a bit for Fury up until he got hurt, and even after he got hurt he was coming on at the end as well. Very winnable fight for him which is why hes only like +140
There is a huge size difference, and Usyk is getting older. So yes, there's a chance Fury might win, but I think Usyk will persevere once again.
I didn't watch the video yet but I intend to. The first fight was close up until the 8th and then Fury almost got knocked out. Fury had a lot of success in the middle of the fight and seemed like he was able to hurt Usyk It's been awhile since I watched the fight and I wasn't sure if it was an adjustment made or a fury just let him off the hook but it seemed like if fury just kept pressing he could have won the fight. I don't know if he's able to win over a 12 round fight and I felt that same way after Joshua in the first fight. Joshua selling out later in the fight and trying to get that knock out was the closest that he got to winning and I feel like that's what Fury has to do. I don't think he's going to be able to keep the pace and fight like that for 12 rounds and I think he just needs to find a way to try to put something on usyk and hurt him and try to end it. I am mostly curious to see how Fury handles the loss. Does he come back strong and motivated and seek revenge or does he use this as a way to falter under pressure. I thought Joshua did better in the rematch so I think it's possible for these bigger guys to adjust that said Joshua still lost a clear decision. Fury would have to improve significantly or cash in on a big punch
Fury certainly has a chance. Official Scorecards from 1st fight: 115-112 to Usyk. 114-113 to Usyk. 114-113 to Fury.
Good video as always. Thank you for your work Rummy. My personal opinion as to why Fury didn't try to use his size was part ego, part common sense. Fury thought with his skills and size he could out-box Usyk for a stretch and win. There other reason was how good Usyks footwork is. What worked against Wilder and his toothpick legs doesn't work against Usyk.
I feel like the Wilder fights got into fury‘s head a little bit. He used to succeed with boxing and moving and countering, and he’s kind of gotten used to clinching and smothering, and trying to be an inside fighter. I don’t think he could use the same tactics against Usyk, but I think he does need to incorporate more roughhousing than he did in the first fight
