Not necessarily. Many great fighters never fought a #1 ranked opponent before their 10th pro fight. But, it's tall order for Curmel to match or surpass Inoue. Time will tell.

How many fights before he faces a champ has no bearing on whether he ends up better than Inoue, his skill and work does. Oh i see what it's about, he mentioned your man crush. That thing you got with Inoue seems unhealthy imho. Nobody cares that much about that guy lol. He's an elite fighter but get over it man. You're carrying on about holding a 17 year old kid that's had exactly one fight as a professional accountable in a sport where people talk **** and lie in almost every press conference and interview. I'm sure you don't have a bias bone in your body and held all the fighters you fanboy over accountable too right? If the kid doesn't pan out nobody will even remember this and he'll be a footnote in boxing history and really far down the list of people who said something and didn't live up to it.

 

He doesn't need to become champ in 6 or less fights to topple Inoue. Like you said, there are many paths to greatness. He can topple Inoue other ways. Like I said, that's a tall order.
