    Anyone have some thoughts on this often underrated champion? He holds some notable wins over the likes of Alexis Arguello, Antonio Gomez and I thought he should have got the decision against Kuniaki Shibata.

    A lot of the smaller fighters from Mexico & other foreign fighters get overlooked in the late 60's and early 70's due to Ali, Frazier, Foreman Hvyweight shadows.

    With a bit more popularity and thebright following Ernesto Marcel would have been a hall of fame inductee. He was an excellent fighter with some stellar wins and a true champion

    He definitely deserved the nod over Shibata. That was robbery. His performance against Arguello was astonishing.
