    Correct :good
After looking at the tape it was clear Sams corner never said a word during the fight to stop it. They tried to say they did after the fight to try and save Sams reputation. Didnt work:-( :-(

Thanks, Chef! Good to see others feel the same. I got a big kick out of your conversation with Wlad about what Vitali said to Gotzev after the fight. I shared that with a friend and we both laughed.

Gotzev had that coming, as did all of the Peter camp for the junk they talked before the fight. I think the person that Vitali was least upset with after the match was Peter himself, because at least Sam got in the ring. McKinley and Gotzev had just talked, talked, talked and their words meant nothing. And Gotzev just kept talking after the fight, trying to cover for Sam. Understandable, but still sad.

It is a response to the writers who said that Peter didn't stop the fight, that his corner did. Glad you liked it! :p

You, along with assfan84, probably don't read that much. If you did, you would already know this.

Hello...... The corner never had a say in it..

    Samuel didn't want to know...

he wanted out , and no one tried to convince him of otherwise....

Stacey (Coke head) McKinley just stood impassively and as useful as a chocolate teapot..

That corner could not even suggest the most basic of strategies through the fight.. Sammy looked like he wanted help in there but no one came up with even a basic set of standards.. To zig zag under that jab and slam something into those ribs and bash away from close quarters.. and wear Vitali down as rounds went on.. then try to flail away at his head when he was in close proximity.. Have a brawl when it got despairate.. he stood too long in front of that big man and ate a jab , right hand all night.. no angles, nothing illusive, just one road in and the same road out , hitting the road block all evening.. i am dissapointed.. and i don't completely blame Samuel.. i blame that $300.000 Cokehead cornerman, who couldn't grab his own ass with both hands.......... he is a Don KIng Productions mitt man from the mid nineties....... who stole Mike tysons WBC belt and sold it on E-Bay..

The corner was awful, no doubt about it. They were much better at talking at the press conferences than they were helping Sam. Same with the manager.

I'm not sure things would have changed much, but they did Sam no favors on Saturday, and he should get rid of all of them -- except perhaps the manager, who is a good BS'er -- right away.

Cheers. I'd been hearing rumours about that for a while but no-one was ever certain. Then one day I thought to open my eyes when my tv was turned on, and there it was! Proof!

Rarely if ever has a champion lost his belt in such a way. Losing every minute of every round. I cannot remember that ever happening before.

Somehow I think Vitaly loves to meet the guys that gave his little brother some difficulty. They fire him up more and he just wants to beat them to a pulp. "So.. Peter... did you really KD my brother? Did you...? Huh?... what's that? Can't speka with blood in your mouth? .. You're what? Sorry.. you're sorry? Well you will be when this is over...."

I know you're a bit of a Calzaghe fan Hitman - do you think Vitali v Peter was a more dominant win than Calzaghe v Lacy? Or Wright v Trinidad?

Yes, it was more dominant than both.

If you see the Lacy-Joe fight a few times you will see that while Joe was winning most rounds he was not as dominant as people remember. It was more the shock because many expected Lacy to KO Joe.. so when the opposite happened people got shocked.

Vitaly-Peter was more dominant. Lacy actually tried baravely for pretty much the entire fight and although Joe clearly won, he didn't punch Lacy around like Vitaly slapped Peter around.

Also, when I said ever.. I meant that a challenger has beaten a champion like that. Joe was himself a champion and I was no talking about unification, but about the case where a challenger without a belt came a ripped the belt away from the champ. We have seen stoppages before, but rarely if ever after completel dominance.
