The fact that Johnson could force a man as strong as Jeffries arm backwards so that he was unable to use it,that he could pin his arms to his sides and walk him backwards does indeed mean something ,as does the fact that he pushed one of Jeffries arms behind him into a hammer lock which Jeff was unable to prevent him doing , it means he was able to impose his strength on a man noted for his strength, a man 20lbs heavier. And he was doing it in the first few rounds when Jeffries was fresh. Johnson repeatedly clinched with Jeffries then freed himself to land ripping uppercuts which Jeffries was powerless to prevent. The difference between Johnson and Jeffries ,strength wise is that Johnson's strength was proven against bigger, as well as smaller men, and Jeffries was showing his against smaller, lighter , and in lots of cases, considerably older men. Who is making anything up? 70's fan provided filmed evidence of it, and I provided ringside reports confirming it .Tom Sharkey ringside rooting for Jeffries who he had picked to ko Johnson said, after seeing Johnson man handle Jeffries in the 2nd round , ." My God its no contest!"
Johnson can be seen calmly grinning ,allowing Jeffries to expend energy fruitlessly. He had tested the strength of his opponent and knew he was his master . Contemporary reports state he was controlling Jeffries in the clinches from the get go.
