This isn’t completely new for GGG, in a lot of his older matches he incorporated a lot of head movements and flowed similarly to you see here. I feel it’s more a return to his older style

I don’t like CP Freshmart. Isn’t he ducking unification with his other compatriot from Thailand? There could be undisputed

Canelo will be gibbering in fear now that 3G is back.

He looks better. Sanchez's style worked perfectly well but there was no plan B and it left him in love with his power. Most noticeable in 2nd Canelo fight when GGG switched to 'boxing' more. I thought he had good success this way. Sanchez was annoyed with him but Sanchez's tactics and general corner work were lousy. His corner work has been exposed numerous times anyway.

I didn't expect to see much chance really and it IS just pad work after all. But he looks lighter on his feet, throws more fluidly (instead of KO shots. He is very heavy handed anyway, he needn't worry too much about always going for power) and more head movement. I saw some jabs to the body too which is something he has not utilised enough under Sanchez. Sanchez took away his natural style he developed as an AM and made him very marketable. In doing so he nullified some of his ability.

The Rolls fight will tell us how he is going to fight going forward for maybe 2-3 rounds. Doesn't show if he has actually improved though.

I'd pull out of the fight after I saw this video if I was Rolls.

Good post. GGG switched in the 2nd Canelo fight and he pretty much shut down Canelo's offense.

What do you think of the head movement GGG utilized in the mitt workout ? He was swaying from side to side a lot, getting into a rhythm. Do you think he will use that kind of head movement on fight night ?

He will probably revert to his old style in the ring. Pads mean F all. Do you all remember when Hatton looked like a slick, fleet-footed, head mover on the pads with Mayweather Senior in training? Hmmm. Didnt see much of it in his subsequent fights.

Considering his age and long amateur career, I doubt we'll see GGG back to his best form. He probably peaked 4-5 years ago, and a return to his absolute best is not likely.
