(video) Haye confronts Wlad in London Shopping Mall

How about making a splash into the Heavyweight division with some top wins, and then pressing for a title fight in a classy manner? You act as if ambushing the Champion in a shopping mall and getting in his face is the only way to get a title shot. That is a good way to be ignored by a classy guy like Wlad. If after winning a few heavyweight fights against top guys, Haye making the statement that he wants to fight Wladimir Klitschko is perfectly fine. It is perfectly fine for him to say that now. However, the way that he is going about it is trashy, and shows a serious lack of class. He could have walked up to him, shook his hand and told him that he couldn't wait to meet him the ring, and that he would love to have a title shot after Wlad finishes his mandatories.... that would have been fine too. Not acting like a thug who doesn't know how to conduct himself as a professional.

Haye wants to get his bell rung too. I honour his bravery. He might get hurt. Mormeck knocked him down? What would a straight right from Wlad do?

No. Do what all fighters have to do, get in the ring and win fights. If everyones so bad what's the big deal? Call me old fashioned, but stalking people and running your mouth off like an idiot is not the way to create hype. Haye comes across to me as weak, i have seen his interviews. it's constant reaffirmation, "i am good, i'm a real heavyweight, i can bang". The boy is far from confident. He needs to get himself togeather, psyche himself up and make some fights.

Haye's smart - he's creating interest in a fight that will be as one-sided as it gets. Klitschko will starch him, and early.

At least he recognizes he needs to have a couple of HW fights before facing Wlad. He better pick those opponents carefully, with his shaky whiskers.

 

widow makers right here. most sports fans (and casual boxing fans) have no clue who david haye is. almost all have at least heard of the klitchkos (if they don't know which one is which). the cw divsion doesn't register to the casual fan.

 

I actually agree that it would be nice for him to walk up and shake his hand and say that ****....but right or wrong that's not the way things happen in boxing. Hand-shaking and nice guy acts generally come after the fight, and well you know it. This video doesn't reflect badly on Haye or WALD in my opinion, they both acted the way I'd have expected them to act and I don't like or dislike either of them any more or less because of it. It's hype, and it happens, those of us that are mature and intelligent can see it for what it is and dismiss it, those that aren't just get upset about it.

 

I can respect that reply but Wlad has to fight Thompson & Povetkin first and in my opinion unification should be next after that. If Haye wants Wlad so badly let him win a belt or let him wait in line.

 

Haye could fight Peter or the winner of Valuev vs. Chagaev thus earning a shot the old fashioned way right?

 

Wouldn't Davey Boy have to beat some top Heavy's first?

Haye has 20 KO's in 21 wins....WALD also has a high KO rate but has been on the floor. A lot...which is what makes this fight interesting, same as Haye V Macarinelli.
