Some historical perspective on Deontay Wilder becoming just the 6th heavyweight champion in history to make 10 or more consecutive title defenses.

Comendible accomplishment. He still doesnt impress me as a fighter. Take away his rt hand and you have zero.

Perfect example of how statistics like this are utterly meaningless when comparing today's splintered titlists to actual unified champions. And that's not even getting into the atrocious quality of "opposition" against which Wilder has created this utterly bogus "record."

To be fair if you took away Frazier's left hook he'd be running pretty low too. Of course Frazier's left hook was utilized a lot more often.

With Frazier he had so many more intangibles.
Joe actually had a ring IQ...excellent cordinattion..second to none head and dipping at the waist movement. He knew how to through that sneaky rt hand under the heart and cross with it when needed. Cut the ring off. He was comfortable in there.
Joe knew how to FIGHT. Wilder is a one trick pony with the rt hand. Take it away and hes lost. The man is clueless resorting to acting like an ### to kill some time. Absolutely no comparison in my eyes

I hear you but you probably get my basic gist. I agree he's very limited but he's still manufactured a very workable and effective style. He makes good use of his sheer physicality allied to that immense right hand threat. His fights against the top 3 will show us just how effective and it will also define his right hand much more acutely.

The good news is there is some very interesting match ups on the way.

I just want to see him fight someone good already! Ortiz was closer to 50 than anything else. Fury just never did a thing for me. I'm busting to see him fight someone good period. Idk maybe my standards are different than most.

Wilder, carrying on fighting the same quality of guy's he has being doing, we could be lookin at 25 defences. On a par with Joe Louis and beating Holmes, Lewis.. He'd NEVER come close to being on a level with those mentioned
