Another video to watch after work. Looking forward to it! Hopefully we don't have to see that eventuality though. WAR DUBIOS!
Joshua will get there. He should beat Dubois, and even if he doesn't, he'll get another chance when the titles split. They are going to try to screw Usyk again to make Joshua-Fury. This time, they'll buy the ref and TWO judges. Hopefully Usyk digs down and goes for the knockout.
Won't count if you ask me. It was like Jimmy Ellis picking up a scrap left behind by Ali, but nobody remembers him as HW champ. It was a gift from the corrupt IBF and Usyk Just an opinion
Gotta agree here. It'll be a technicality tainted with corruption. I honestly hope Dubios wins so we can avoid this circus.
In this weak era ? it means nothing special Politics 99% of the times favor AUS/US/UK boxers to win a tittle.
Ali’s 3 peat is the best one listed. Beating Sonny Liston and then George Foreman years apart is the stuff of legend. Even if Spinks was a weak link on the back end. Holyfield had a well rounded and great 3 peat. Buster Douglas off his win over Tyson nice, Bowe epic, and Tyson epic. Big drop to Lewis - awarded the belt without having to fight for it, is weak sauce, a mentally deranged and should have been committed McCall is also weak. Rahman was an ok win being that it was revenge. Joshua is also weak - Charles Martin was awful, Ruiz is ok on the level of Rahman, and Dubois will be a good win. If he should win. Will actually be better than Lewis. Obviously I’m just talking about the 3 peats and not career as whole. If Joshua wins, in my book I think he is lock for hall of fame. I know some have him in already, I don’t but this would seal it in my book. It’s an important fight for him.
The funniest thing is that he became a 'two-time world champion' but getting KO'd by an obese LHW and then winning by running away from an even fatter version. Ruiz must have one of the worst records of any HW champion in history. Hilariously his only top win is against AJ. The only one with a worst record might be Charles Martin, the fighter AJ won his first world championship against. LOL!
I know that the idea of being 3x champ illustrates the idea that the fighter can lose the crown, then come back stronger showing his fortitude and character, but I think the manner of the losses probably weigh in on the achievement as well. As noted above, Lewis is a bit of an odd ball having one of the 'wins' not even being in the ring. Deffo one of the more dubious achievements and each one needs looked at on it's own merits and circumstances
As long as Usyk is around AJ will be a paper champion trinket belt holder. Nothing more. That belt isn’t worth anything. Usyk is THE champion.
AJ has never beat a reigning champion for a belt. He is a fraud. I made a thread about this last week. https://www.boxingforum24.com/threads/anthony-shades-of-ali-joshua-or-not.725971/
Charles Martin and Joseph Parker were reingning champions. Plus he won the vacat WBA strap fighting number 1 active heavyweight in the world.
Ali, Tyson, Lewis, Holyfield... Is there any HW ATG that doesn't have a loss on their record? Usyk yeah? but he's not done yet, so who knows. Y'all disrespect every damn boxer and can never be satisfied. If they're fat, they're obese, if they're muscled, they're bodybuilders. Non of that matters, their job is to box and anything can happen in HW
