One line from Rummy caught my attention, about Beterbiev using bludgeoning power to get guys out of there. Bivol in my opinion won't be there to be bludgeoned . On paper Bivol has the skills to move, give angles, and not let Artur get set to punch and rack up points. Beterbiev will have to get to him to win and from what I saw last weekend he won't do that consistently enough to win. I have Bivol as a close favorite and he should take a UD in the 115-113 range.
i agree. also, i think beve can be hurt. he had to walk off a couple of shots from yarde. bivol might not hit him that hard, but he will hit him much more consistently. and be much harder to pin down.
Bivol made a lot of strange tactical choices in the Canelo fight. As much as he rose to the occasion, there were nerves and doubts somewhere in his mind. I think he was worried about the BJS experience, where you are competitive and then walk into a trap and get stopped. Same thing against Smith, he realized he was running away with the point win so he decided to play a little prevent defense. I believe if Beterbiev can force the issue, we'll see a higher gear out of Bivol and that's going to be hard to deal with for AB.
As usual - Love your videos and the perspective that you offer. Never one-sided, always using logic and strong rationale to support the question at hand. From my perspective, both fighters have their respective technical flaws and we have see both Bivol and Beterbiev get rocked. While I believe that Bivol may arguably have a slight edge in overall boxing skills and defense, the bludgeoning power advantage goes to Beterbiev. I have always been a fan of both skilled boxers and heavy punchers, but in this case... I think Beterbiev catches Bivol at the right time and stops him sometime after round 5. But in the words of Rummy - "What do I know". Lol.
Beterbiev's boxing looks simple, but he performed very well against top skill boxers in amateurs like Usyk and Kovalev. He beat Gvozdik too... I wont be surprised if he gonna be favorite in this match up.
Nice Video Rummy. Beterbiev is good enough to beat Bivol. And whether he would beat Bivol is another question. I can't predict, I don't understand who would win.
He certainly was, which is why Bivol has been a belt holder since 2017 but was calling out Canelo in 2018, didn't unify with Beterbiev in 2019 (when Gvozdyk stepped up) and still hasn't fought Beterbiev as of 2023. Hearn wants Beterbiev to fight C. Smith next while Bivol fights Buatsi or Canelo (or both), so assuming Beterbiev and Bivol win it will be 2024 at the earliest when Beterbiev-Bivol could be made, with an additional two fights of wear for Beterbiev since pre-Yarde. Will Beterbiev accept being aged/worn out? Assuming he beats C. Smith he'll be 39 by the time he's back in the ring, already tight at the weight (initially missed weight for Browne) and could be retiring soon. Bivol is only a threat to Beterbiev's legacy if he beats him, otherwise Bivol's marquee win is a 5'7 natural MW. Then there are the political/economic factors: does the Western boxing establishment want a Russian national as an undisputed champion? Is it a big enough money fight to justify it?
Good video but ur messing up my betting line runmmy. I expect bivol to cruise past artur honestly. faster feet + faster hands + good defense and fundamentals vs a ko machine with, let's be honest, some really slow hands. And it's not like bivol has taken a ton of damage in his career so far. Unless artur truly has foreman level power AND bivol makes mistakes, it's hard for me to see a path to victory for beterbiev.
Yes he can I watched highlights of his fight vs Callum Johnson, and Johnson decked him pretty hard and had his legs go to jelly.
