Willard is jabbing chin up and leaning into Dempsey's range, his chin like a balloon on a string. Willard is slow to clinch on the inside and clinches with no authority for a man of his strength, waltzing like a drugged hippo. Willard's feet are a tangled mess, squaring up at the wrong time, settled in his hips when he should be on his front foot. Willard slaps with his right at mid and close range and doesn't have the footwork to establish his preferred distance. Willard doesn't change his defense as Dempsey closes the distance, keeping his right low even on the inside. He's a mess.

As I said you dksab, Dempsey was the changing of the guard, between the old and new. Willard was what he was Ok, period, nobody but you would over analyze Willard. Jack looks fantastic. He threw in feints, head movement, did those little walk-around moves Walcott was well-known for, had good technique and speed and power, etc. Highlights why Arcel thought so highly of him.
