Ward likes to win. He will fight more on the out side and make it a close fight.

Toney because his his chin but it would not be an easy fight at all. The only weakness Toney can exploit is his superior chin.

I disagreee and say 80-20 for James,a slick, superior technician he would have lit ward up from the distance or the clinch,It wouldnt matter.
    Toney aint froch or kessler.:bbb
He lookes average against avergare opponents cause he was a lazy ******* in his trainings and he was a pig.

Nah he looks average against fighters that stick and move, which is what Ward would do. Styles make fights and I think Ward would have an easy time.

Id have to pick Toney over Ward.
Despite all he achieved, with his talent, should be regarded, right up there with the all time greats. Toney was very special.

The gap in the class of boxer that these 2 men have faced & defeated is ENORMOUS.

In the span of one year, Toney defeated...

    McCallum
    Nunn
    Johnson (Reggie)
    &
    Sosa

Has Ward even faced a boxer as skilled as the 3rd best man of that bunch (Reggie Johnson)?

    I don't think so.

When it comes down to it, Toney is just much more proven against a MUCH MUCH MUCH higher level of opposition than Ward. And stylistically, Ward doesn't matchup well with Toney at all.

I mean Mike McCallum, who is one of the greatest & craftiest ring technicians that boxing has ever seen, wasn't able to outhink & outbox Toney... But Ward is somehow going to? :blood :think

Michael Nunn, who was superior to Ward in just about every single facet of boxing (save for infighting) and was faster, harder punching, rangier and fleeter of both hand & foot, but still couldn't keep Toney off of him for the full 12, yet Ward is supposed to somehow be able to outbox him at mid-range? :patsch:rofl

Get real people. Ward would've got stopped late, but in a competitive affair.

Agree with this. Ward is a very disciplined fighter and could use his feet to make an outside fight to decision a flat-footed Toney. If he tries to take it inside though he'd get battered.
