    This may be the worst that Calzaghe has ever been hurt in his career. Clearly, he is more shaken here in the second round than he was when knocked down vs Bernard Hopkins. I have never seen the Calzaghe - Kabary Salem bout, so I can't say how hurt Joe was in that contest.

    If Roy Jones, Jr. is to beat Calzaghe, it could well be due to a thudding punch or series of punches laced with the kind of power here displayed by Byron Mitchell:

    That was a hard shot on the side of his head around the temple which can make you wobbly much like tito got up the same way when Jones knocked him down too. Jones has to win this fight using his left hooks

    The more I watch the knockdown sequence above, the more I think the faster and stronger (than Mitchell) Jones is going to have a real chance to hurt Calzaghe.

    Joe better fight smart, at least at first, or he could get "Byron Mitchell-ed" all over again. And for those who don't think Roy can finish, ask Montell Griffin.

    I doubt there will be many exchanges going on in the fight. Both fighters respect each other too much for that to go on I think. I just hope its not as boring as Hops - Calzaghe

    How long ago was the Griffin fight? Those who think Jones Jnr can't finish, ask Tito, he fought him just a few months ago so has a much better idea of the current state of RJJ than Montell Griffin does.

    It's a good point. It's not Roy's nature to be a finisher, but he can do it when properly motivated.

    If Roy is able to hurt Calz, I think he better jump on him and try to seal the deal.

    If Roy can't put away a former WW who had previously been knocked out at MW and down at numerous others, despite having him seriously hurt on a couple of occasions, I don't think he's going to stop a bigger guy, with a better chin, who has never looked seriously hurt in an unbeaten career.

    If Roy wants to win, it'll have to be on points.

    However, the Vic-Mijares fight has made me say this every time I make a prediction now....IMO!!!

    Looked weird but he definately took a hard shot. Mitchell was a damn heavy hitter. The Salem kd was another big shot, flush.

    The fact that Calzaghe was recently dropped by a fast sneaky shot by Hopkins is more telling, however.

    punch lands which causes him to lose his balance

    this was the worst KD to represent Calzaghe in any serious trouble, should of used Hopkins or Salem to make a better case.
