Cal said this was the most hurt he'd been, he said he didnt Know what had happened for about 3-4 seconds, then he remembers looking at enzo and by the time the ref got to 6 or 7 he was fine and his head had cleared.

Definitely a good shot that caught Joe, looked like he didn't see it. He also took a solid left hook shortly after from Mitchell. Joe was very undisciplined after the knockdown, and whilst it worked and got him a stoppage ( a tad early) Calzaghe has really matured from this fight and it showed with his 2 other KD's. He no longer becomes a whirling dervish after he's dropped. I expect Joe to be cautious early against Roy and feel him out for the better part of 2-3 rounds. I'm not worried about an early KD against Roy. I think Joe learned a valuable lesson in coming out anxious while still somewhat cold chinned and getting caught with a well placed shot against Bernard. He will take a measured pace early on and find out what Roy wants do and then adjust.

I think it will be well suited for Roy to go with a secondary plan in rounds 1-3 and once Joe adjusts to that, go with the main fight plan in the middle half of the fight. Usually Joe adjusts once and then owns the latter parts of the fight. It would be smart for Roy to make Joe adjust multiple times. Doubt it will happen though.

Did read an interview with Roy where he said afterward he realised he coulda taken Trinidad out in the 1st round.

Shows me he hasn't quite got the 'killer instinct' anymore but maybe that's because he knew he was fighting a smaller guy and felt bad about it.

Calzaghe will finish Roy off, in a similar fashion to this.

In Wales it may have come in the first round.

I don't believe any of that. Roy lost some early rounds to Tito. Bottom line is of you can take a guy out, you take him out. Boxing is far to unpredictable and dangerous to keep a guy on his feet because you feel bad.
