Rummy I know you like to joke around saying you don't know sh#t about boxing but your analysis of Usyk here says otherwise. It's dead on target, his advantages are foot speed ,foot work ,and timing to create angles. Whether those are enough and can he negate AJ's advantages I don't know. I think sooner or later he's going to have to get some respect from Joshua and if he can he's got a chance. Great video

It is a mistake. Usyk has quicker feet than anybody Aj has ever fought and probably better head movement as well. Aj would not be able to sustain a Chisora like pace for more than 1 or 2 rounds as we see against Pulev, he gassed after one round after manhandling and failing to knock out Pulev in round 3. And he's going to need a Chisora like pace for about 3 or 4 to eventually trap and bully Usyk, let alone KO Usyk. Aj trying to pick his moments to bully Usyk won't work out because Aj just does not cut the ring off as well as Chisora and trying to get on the inside opens Joshua up for counters against the shorter man that would likely back him up and reset everything.

There's only one way for the bodybuilder to beat Usyk and we saw a little bit of it in the fight between Lomachenko and Lopez. Keep Usyk at bay with your longer jab and take advantage of Usyks slow early rounds by scoring points with your constant jab, look to time that right hand against the southpaw, and set Usyk up for counters when he gets agressive, especially a right cross.

The key for Joshua is timing his right hand and throwing it a lot and trying to land the jab.. a simple fight. Watch Tommy Hearns and just go simple. Jab right hand and mix it up. A lot of rights..

The best southpaw Hearns faced blasted him out of there in 3 rounds.

I think AJ's best weapon will be his uppercut, not his straight right hand. His best path to victory is actually to be like Klitschko, jab and grab Usyk when in close, lean on him to try and sap his energy.

I always call them the best I can. And I actually have gotten a few HW fights right along the way. Not many, though.

Your curse will not beat Gypsy Magic anyway. If it does you are a powerful wizard.

You didn't learn after picking Giuliani , Rummy. :D

Your analysis was very plausible and your AJ pick wasn't outrageous.

I'm happy to say I picked Usyk by decision but was wary of home cooking.
(Did you see the disgusting gift young Hatton got ?)

Who you got if Usyk ever faces Fury ?

I was impressed by your analysis, which was essentially spot on. One of the few people not to repeat the 'Joshua too big too strong' memes. Was a little surprised by the prediction given that, but it was the safest guess I suppose, especially given the concern over a potential robbery.

Look forward to the follow up.

No, missed Hatton. I only watched the main event an hour or so after it began.

Oh, I'm not inclined to make another HW prediction until my outstanding one plays out on October 9.
