I have to pick Lomachenko to win by TKO because of his combination of speed, angles, punches coming from every angle possible, punch output, chin, offense and defense, stamina. Lomachenko made GRJ look bad good practice for Lomachenko, he can handle speed. He made the win over GRJ look easy. Rigo has speed, skill, but does not have the extras of a Lomachenko. Weight difference will be a problem for Rigo, don't know if he can keep up at that weight. What will happen to Rigo's power? We all know Lomachenko has power at 130 and plans on going up to 135 even..................age could be a factor and activity.............Rigo not used to fighting someone as fast as Lomachenko, but with the footwork and angles it will make it worse. Rigo can be hit, he has gone to the canvas against much slower opponents..............at the very least Lomachenko will out work Rigo.................he punches non-stop!!!

Rigondeaux's three main advantages are his southpaw stance, his impeccable timing, and his masterful control of distance and range, in order for a fighter to beat him, they need to have excellent footwork preferably to be able to pivot from one side of Rigo to the other with the greatest of ease, that would get him into range and in a position to land consistent shots on Rigo, footwork that will disrupt Rigo's movement and rhythm and throw him off of his trajectory and out of position, causing him to have to reset his feet and possibly move in the other direction altogether, which he's not accustomed to. An arrhythmic awkward hard to time rhythm, excellent parrying skills for to slip or block the incoming counter, use weird and incessant feints to keep Rigo blinded and guessing, and use odd angles to deliver punches on parts of Rigo's head and body that he's not adequately prepared to defend, therefore he won't see them coming, and those are the shots that KO or drop guys. It would also help if that fighter was a fellow southpaw.

That sounds like Lomachenko to me, personally I think Loma could beat Rigo at SBW, FW and obviously at SFW. Because the one other quality that I didn't mention above that Loma possesses is speed, no one Rigo has faced has anything close to Loma's speed, and often times speed is power, especially when landing the aforementioned shots your opponent can't prepare for, or see coming at all. So all these qualities combined, Loma will not only beat Rigo, but he will KO Rigo, not sure which round, it could be early, it could be in the middle rounds, or it could be late, it'll be whenever Loma unlocks the Riddle of Rigo, he'll take his time, won't rush in, slowly probe and feint his way through the match until he gets his prey's timing right, then he'll go to work, and judging by how pathetic Rigo's chin is, if Loma lands a 2 or 3 punch combo, he may not only KO him, he may knock him clean out. So my prediction is, Loma will play it safe for about 3 or 4 rounds, unlock the riddle, go to work and savagely KO him in 5.

the danger with what I've bolded though is Loma loves to shift to his right to set up the left hand and if he does that too much, I can't see Rigo not being able to time it. even with all of Lomas speed of movement

same arguments for pac to beat money are being made here. with the work out put of loma, the foot work of loma, punching angles of loma, and so on and so on. loma has not fought any one with the style of rigo who will not be standing in front of loma waiting for him to get off. Its just not that kind of party like pac man soon found out with money.

loma will have to make the fight just like donair did, because he is listening to the news clippings and banter about all the advantages he has. this plays for rigo because that means loma is fighting his fight, aka following rigo to exploit his perceived advantages. cliche "dont follow punchers" danger will robinson!

my suggestion loma should not push his weight advantage or be over confident pushing action. keep the fight in the middle of the ring that is his advantage. this is chess not checkers never accept the obvious, two two time gold medal olympians fighting with thousands of amature fights between them. The typical norms and advantages are not applicable.

    loma/rigo my p4p#1 fighters.........I cant lose baby!

If Riggs can't keep Loma honest, then Loma is gonna shine and it won't be close.

P4P probably the two best boxers today. Unfortunately Rigondeaux has a significant size disadvantage. He's going to need to land that big left consistently to keep Loma honest. If Loma isn't discouraged by anything Rigo throws then he will be pounding him until a stoppage. Conversely, it could be a chess match, which is what Rigo prefers for this fight.

If Rigo can make this a competitive fight he is probably P4P #1 regardless of how boring he is.

Great preview! I always enjoy these.

Like everyone else, I have watched more of Lomachenko than Rigondeaux in the last couple of years, and there's no question that Lomachenko has improved a great deal and has a number of advantages going into this fight.

However, my personal belief is that the greater fighter is Rigondeaux. I also believe that Rigondeaux has been basically bored with his opposition since perhaps as far back as Donaire.

If he is not trying to cash out- or finish his career- here, he might just be really interested in this fight.

If so, I believe we will see a superior effort that surprises nearly everyone with regard to current predictions.

I think the fight will be closer than anticipated.

I believe there's 1 division size difference between them, I don't think Loma became much bigger since his move to 130. Either way it's an excellent fight, the winner should get full credit.
