if he will take a year or two off again, he is doing the same thing he does before. he did not fought cotto when cotto was the hottest "other welter" around then, and he will not fight pac when pac is the hottest "other welter" now.

 

Now that I thought about it more I think this is not true. Pacquiao has said this will be his one last fight. Mayweather just wants to one-up Pacquiao this time.

This would be dumb for several reasons. The two most glaring are frst he will be considered to have ducked Pacquiao and second he's not getting any younger so the more he takes 1 to 2 years off, the more he puts himself at risk. I hope he's not serious. It was disappointing to many when he took his last break and a Cotto fight was the one to make. The most disappointing thing is that no person he is considered to have dodged, is a guy he wasn't favored to beat.

I don't think that is going to happen. He's 33 yrs old now. I think he'll do a total of 5 fights like the plan has been all along. He's got about 2 more good years where he is still close to prime. After that, I'd say retire. Don't want to end up like Roy Jones.
