Lets be fair Floyd in his mid thirties has had more years to refine his skills, Broner is in his early twenties, as he gets more fights/experience under his belt if he stays focused and continues to train like a beast he will ultimately be as difficult to deal with as Floyd...
tbf thats a mayweather off a 2-3 year layoff against better opp broner cant move like floyd hes to stiff and tense ad floyd is so much more skillfull but broner is going to be a great fighter many imitate none duplicate
Fool I've seen practically every one of Floyd's fights and the Corrales fight numerous times, that Younger version of Floyd was more mobile and elusive because of superior footwork/young legs, this thread showed a post of current day Floyd along side current day Broner, Adrien's style is similar to how May fights now, only Broner sits down on his punches more and subsequently has more power... Broner is not as mobile as a younger Floyd, however if need be Broner can also use footwork and land crisp clean pot shots as well, he will never be Floyd and **** that's a good thing, hopefully he continues to walk opponents down, sit in the pocket break them down and stop them, he's only gonna get better is what I'm saying, like I said with more experience he will have the opportunity to refine his skills and be as difficult to deal with as Floyd, what the hell does that have to do with the Corrales fight?
That's a great vid...thanks for posting. Broner is definitely good...Floyd is bonifide great. With that said....Broner is well on his way to being a great fighter who's resume supports the distinction.....but he still has a way to go before he can be considered as good as Floyd. There's still some areas where Broner has some holes that can be exposed by a better fighter than Demarco. Good observation about the pulling straight back from Andrien. I noticed that too but Demarco wasn't fast or long enough to capitolize.
:goodFloyd is more polished and savvy....it comes with experience. Broner will most likely get there if he can keep his head on straight.
Imitate? Maybe...but ultimately Broner found a style that works for him, I also see flashes of James Toney in Adrien, who's to say he wouldn't have the same form/style even if he came before Floyd, is he stiff? Well he's certainly not as fleet a foot as Mayweather but I wouldn't label him as stiff at all, I think he's fight that way because he's comfortable doing it and its what works for him, he's undefeated and boasts an impressive KO percentage so he can't be doing anything wrong... All the flak that Floyd gets from his critics saying he runs and pot shots, it's unusual now that Broner is getting criticized for staying in the pocket fighting toe to toe and knocking people out...when/if the time comes that he has to use his footwork & boxing ability to beat an opponent I have no doubt he will be able too...
Broner doesn't have the upper body movement of Floyd or Toney, but he has the same weaknesses of lateral movement. His defense is more Toney's than Floyd's, but he gets hit more cleanly than either guy. He is enormous for his weight which is where his advantages of being flat footed and aggressive come in.
I'm about to blew this thread to ****......... Mayweather = fighting sure H.O.F.s Broner = fighting opponents/of thread
