Nice video. Must be millions of us who followed Tyson (Mike) as he emerged and would very much like to see someone somewhat similar in terms of a dominant offence. Mike had some great defensive skills too.
Usyk said he doesn't want to fight Itauma, because he's too young and thus he doesn't want to break him.
Not even close, he lacks the ferocious temperament, mindset and drive. He's a passionless dead inside zombie zoomer that thinks actually caring about something is a weakness. He'll fold the first time it gets tough in there, pack it in and leave the sport, just like that weak minded mental midget Jared Anderson.
Maybe but he has been sparring big HWs since he was a young teenager and had his bell rung a few times so perhaps has overcome that particular hurdle already..... ...might explain the slurred speech at this age too
There must have been a dozen new Tyson's since Tyson & none ever come close .. Itaumas an unproven stoner who like Joshua will have a path paved with gold laid out before him by the cringe British Media & boxing establishment but will never live up to the expectations put upon him.. such a cliche this new Tyson crap
Millions following him as he emerged? You sure about that? I wasn’t even born then but this was way before the internet an any social media an I’m sure not that many could watch all his early fights on free TV
Yeh, there's millions for sure. Mike Tyson crossed over into general sports fans. I watched his fights in Aussie sports bars and later on free to air in the UK - Bonecrusher Smith was free to air as I remember. I was pretty young when he was in his early stages, but there was a lot of coverage about him, mainstream media covered him. Maybe not his really early fights but at the same stage as Itauma, 2 years in, for sure. Depends on someone's perspective on 'emerging' though ... pretty sure 9 Network Wide World of Sports covered him in Oz pretty early on.
There will be no new Tyson, unless there is a new Cus, and his mentality was forged in the old school gyms, heightened by paranoia and absolute devotion to the sport. Despite Cus not doing the best he could with the likes of Mathis and Torres, he had two consecutive youngest heavyweight champions in history and that's something. This content is protected
Not even remotely close. Tyson in 2 years went 10 rounds 3 times, had 28 contests, and actually won a world title. Itauma hasn't even had half the amount of fights in the same time frame. And for some reason has been inactive for over 6 months after a 1st round stoppage over a past it Whyte. Tyson had some gimme fights in his early fights but atleast he was very active fighting multiple times a month and gradually getting tested going rounds. To put it into perspective Tyson had a competitive 10 round fight vs Tillis and then had another 10 round fight vs Green just 3 weeks after. Tyson was a totally different animal to Itauma the aggression, the explosiveness, the speed, the defence, the footwork. Totally different levels.
I will be there the night Itauma turns back in to a satsuma. No Moses is good but prime Tyson was unique
