Way, way, way too early to speculate on Itauma in this manner. Tyson put the fear of God in every fighter that stepped into the ring with him when he was coming up the ranks. Itauma hasn't done **** so far.
Just the videos, when he was mumbling and slurring. There is SOMETHING wrong with him. I'm not passing judgement.
Slick highlights editing on both fighters. Interesting seeing Mike and Itauma side by side. Completely correct that up and comers don't fight nearly as often anymore. Tyson fought 15 times in 1985
Tyson fought frequently at first as his management thought it necessary to keep him busy, so he didn't get into trouble. Itauma definitely not fighting enough though. And not fighting enough in a very fishy way, like the postponements with undisclosed injuries, etc. I hope he gets his head right and goes on a tear though. Would only be good for boxing. And most people here realise that the top dog amongst the big boys in combat sports should always be a Brit.
Not sure if I like that logic because it applies to everyone. Every boxer has potential. Whether they fulfill it or not is entirely up to them.
Correct and that's why Rummy makes the point in the video that Tyson fulfilled his whereas Itauma has potential and we need to wait and see what he does with his.
The world was not as bleak and dull before the smart phone age as the remodelling of history would have it. It is just that information circulated differently. I assure you that a phenomenon like Tyson was known by most people globally, whether they even liked what he did was immaterial, they knew of Mike Tyson, heavyweight boxer.
Once Usyk, AJ, and Fury retire this division is absolute dog **** though besides maybe Dubois but I don’t know if he recovers from the Usyk fight. Won’t be shocked if he picks up a title 4-5 years from now.
