Wish me luck brahs! I'm 5"10 and 205lbs so i'm guessing i'm going in with a height disadvantage but as it's amateur there will be no head shots standing up on on the ground so hopefully the reach won't play against me too much :think How am i going to win this one lads? Help me out... Do i go for the Thai clinch and work knees to the body or do i try to get the takedown and work the Jits? Either way the fight turns out i'll get it recorded and post it up! I'm not worried if i get smashed i'll still let you all see it Take it easy... Lynchburg
Reach knowledge and get the kod to make him bitchblike is my advice But seriously, work on your weakness' in training so you are as comfortable as possible where ever the fight goes, and try to take the initiative without being reckless if you feel you have the advantage on the ground or stand up You got any intel on your opponent?
No idea... as it is amateur you get given an opponent on the day depending on weight and experience. Thanks for the reach advice... i'll try to get the kod with a liver shot Rutten style yeah? Well i mainly train Muay Thai and BJJ so i'm waiting to see who i get and if i know them i will fight to their weakness. Brawling and sprwling was the gameplan... if all else fails then i'll do this... This content is protected Lynchburg
If you are filming it I want to see you raise your hands and shout 'TAKUMA!' when you get the kod and make him bitchblike and make us proud.
Cool! That is a promise! If i lose i will go up to the camera and blame it on his reach knowledge :deal TAKUMA! Lynchburg
good luck man. i respect any man who steps into the cage/ring, unlike half the ******s on this site. hope you come out victorious but above all safe.
Cheers guys! I hope all my hard work pays off... if it doesn't then at least i know i put myslef there! I should be fighting at 170lbs but the plan was to fight at 185lbs in October and then 170lbs next year... As i took this last minute i'll be 205lbs so i'll have no choice but to fight whatever monster they give me! I have no plans to fight again at 205lbs... 185lbs later in the year and 170lbs next year. I'll also be at the Hereford BJJ open if anyone is going? Lynchburg
Let us know when you get a date. As for strategy.. You gotta be a dog in there. Probably the most important thing is cutting off the cage/ring. Find you're range bro. I was tall for my weight class when I did amateur boxing.. You gotta be a dog in there, man. Get nasty.. Really ****in nasty.. But fight smart. If the guy is larger, my goal would be to get him on the ground so you can use you're BJJ.. But what do I know about training MMA Good luck bro! Seriously.. If I lived in England I would def try to make the trip.. I don't know, the country looks about the size of Texas on a map. Hopefully you get some ESB support in the flesh.
Different orgs have different rules. I've competed in amateur Shooto, headgear and shinnies, no striking on the ground and no elbows to the head. I've seen other amateur MMA orgs that have basically full MMA rules, you just don't get paid.
