Thats what i heard....lol @ the hopkin-haterz/idiots! :nut & the starter of this thread trying to be a smartass
Hopkins at 0:10 "It's over" Then the ref says "so you can't continue?" Then Hopkins says sarcastically "with one hand yeah" You ****ing idiots, saying "it's over" to a ref kind of indicates that you don't want to continue wouldn't you say?
Yep! Dawson was up and motivated tonight. Unfortunately for the viewers, Hopkins found that out pretty quickly and took the chance that was there to bail.:-(
but would you agree with what kellerman said, the ref should have said, "if you stop fighting, you lose"?
Exactly! There is no other way to interpret the verbal exchange between Hopkins and the ref than to conclude that Hopkins wanted no part of the possibility to continue. I was LOL when Hopkins told Kellerman post fight he'd have continued had he been given the choice but the ref did'nt let him continue with one hand.
That's an insult to Hopkins' intelligence. He is prided for his intelligence (particularly when it comes to boxing matters) above all other qualities. The ref shouldn't have to dumb something like that down for him.
Regardless of what he said, I believe if he quit, it was because he really could not continue. Hopkins receives a lot of criticism, some of it just, some of it unwarranted; but the man prepares himself to the fullest and I don't believe he was in any way looking for a way out.
you serious, then kellerman was wrong, it was hard to hear, but he made it seem that the ref made the ruling before he informed hopkins
The ref was yelling it all over the ring, "I'm not calling it a foul, it a tko victory. Hopkins and his whole team knew it. The ref was said it repeatedly.
If he was the same age he was for the Echols fight, I'm sure he would have. .......but please now, Hopkins knew in that little time he shared the ring with Dawson, the young man was motivated and came to do business.
