so my question is this did roy have a problem with his chin. cause the first shot was as hard as the knock out punch tarver hit him with in the second fight. plus the other shots tarvar lands would have stopped any other fighter at 175 around at the time. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DymidutSUPw&feature=channel_page this is the last great performance of roy jones. jones had nothing left 116- 113 for RJJ
he got blindsided in the second fight. It was a massive haymaker and Roy didn't see it coming, something that would have never happened when he was younger. He was so quick and alert in his prime.
watch that fight from the start and u will see rjj control tarver in the center of the ring. and then in the last 20 seconds tarvar would try and still the round hitting roys arms. people were so desperate for jones to lose they were trying to score the fight for tarver. HBO panel scored the fight about right
U put 28 lbs of Quality Mass on... u dont take of the same 28 lbs coming down in weight. There is a reason no FIGHTER in HOSTORY has moved back down from Heavy 2 divisions ...to light heavy to retain a title...u saw why...bloody hard let alone at the Age 35....I think the weight had an effect but more so doing it at an advanced age. Pacman resistance was **** at superfly also
another thing I never saw Tarver hurt another Light heavy after that! Jones legs were totally gone..I even remember a glancing right hand in the 3rd fight...almost kod jones in the 11th. I had seen Jones taking flush shots prior to that. when your punch resistance goes it really goes.
