Is this in France? The guy you fought had a more solid technique, moving the head, punches thrown, him moving you backwards.
Keep your left up! It may look cool shadowboxing but I guarantee you it does not look cool when you are getting hit with right hands. Your jab would be a lot faster too, which, coincidentally was the only thing keeping him away. It's a good thing you stopped him because he was way ahead. Good job, try to use a bit more defense and lateral movement next time rather than backing up so much.
It took you a while to get you jab going, which put him way a head in the first.. You looked at lot better in the second. But personally i would of mixed in a few uppercuts. For example when he was coming forward with his head down, I would of thrown a right uppercut, left hook righthand, I am sure if you hit him with some hard shots he would of stopped coming forward.. But anyway a wins a wins, well done
You looked OK in that match. You shouldn't leave that much space to your opponent. It was obvious he wasn't making big damage but with all those flurries he pilled too many points. You should jab more. Your right counters were very good and you looked very relaxed, you even manage parrying which is pretty dificult. The stoppage looked some how too early wasn't it?
Thanks for the comments and advices everyone. I know they stopped the fight too early,I was surprised myself, but I guess thats how it work in amateur boxing.Particularly when you have less than 5 fight. I know I was less active than my opponent, but I was still leading 10-4 at the moment of the stoppage. He wasnt really connecting. But anyway, thanks again.
you are good. you remind me of myself with your style. I would recommend keeping your hands up more lol, even though you were able to deflect punches with the philly shell along the ropes. nice hand speed, nice footwork. the thing I noticed was that you didn't apply aggression enough when you could've - there were times where you had the guy in a defensive mode not really knowing what to do, and you could've hurt him had you started going on him but you kind of moved back...or another time where you feinted and he was frozen for about a second, but you didn't go in. your technique is solid, you're a good boxer, so I guess just "fight" more so you don't end up losing next time when the fight isn't stopped.
You used the shoulder roll reasonably well to take a lot of the flurries. It's hard to see what connects and what does not on the video. When you are pinned up against the ropes you need to get out of there though. Either tie your opponent up or move one way or the other while maintaining your guard. A head roll/duck combined with a side step is useful here.
The thing is you never know what the judges are counting. Of course they are only supposed to score clean blows but I've seen a lot of fights where they count every slap that grazes you. It's better to keeps your hands up and punches going as not to leave the window open for those crap decisions. Also, in case of a tie it will go to your opponent for coming forward and you backing up.
Thanks for posting the match. I think you move well, have good hand speed, and have good defense. You need to work on getting off first with straighter punches, avoiding the ropes, and holding your ground a bit more. Fight a bit more in the center of the ring. A jab, followed up by a right hand is what I would recommend. What weight class are you? Middle?
