Consider that the only halfway decent opponent with power that Ramos ever had put him on the mat 4 times. Everyone else on his resume is sub .500 or has less than 15 fights. He was way out of his league.
Not a fan of JMM but he landed clean on the chin of Ramos and as someone stated he was out of his league tonight and it showed.
It was'nt a jolting type a shot to put a fighter out like that, but then again....look at Likar's chin, its up in the air fully exposed before Marquez landed that shot. The shot landed right flush on the chin, so you know his brain did some rattling. .......personally I'm just dissapointed Marquez did'nt get a few good rounds of work in.
Here comes all the hype around Marquez, just like there was hype for Margarito, Hatton, Clottey and Mosley. Boxing is becoming worse than WWE.
A girl would have lasted more rounds than ramos did, so would the big show and so would a security guard :rofl:rofl
After watching that round, I am now reconsidering my position concerning Marquez-Pacquiao III. The KO, although a little unusual, seems legit. A punch directly to the chin like that could make people do things we wouldn't expect (cf. Tszyu/Judah). Problem now is that Marquez didn't use this fight for his late adjustments. He probably didn't want to go for the knock out this early but the opponent was not really competitive. At least he doesn't have to worry about the recovery time needed after a fight since he hardly took a punch tonight. He is going to use that time to train.
He was able to take two steps back before pretending to be ko'd. Very bad acting job. "Hey they didn't pay me emough for me to fall down hard. I'm gonna take a few step and take it easy." atsch
