Ok, well on monday as I approached Larry's gym to work out, I saw news vans outside again. Some sort of media thing goes on every 5-6 months it seems, there was one just in February, and I have already been on TV 2 or 3 times now for it, but anyway, I walked in through the door and heard loud grunting noises. I figured it was Larry shaddowboxing or something for the cameras, but to my surprise, it wasn't. It was former NFL player Vai Sikahema hitting the mits in the ring with Larry watching. We weren't allowd to work out for the majority of the time, so I just stood and watched. Mike Mittman, Larry's co-host for his show was also there for a part of Larry's show. So there were 2 different media events going on at once for the same thing. So I just stood patiently watching. Once the workout was over I was allowed to go over and do part of my warm up on the olyptical, which you will see me on 3 different times in the mirror. I'm wearing a green shirt. All in all, it was interesting, but of all the days they had to come, it had to be on a day I was sparring, and holding me up from my warm up. Here's the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6f2Z-xwRDdA
sweet. wait this guy is 5'9 200 pounds and all muscle...please that guy is using roids. it was nice of you bill to let him train in your gym
LOL, it's not really my gym, it's Larry Holmes's, which is why he was in the ring with him giving him tips and doing interviews. I could be seen in the mirror on the olyptical in the back. I was wearing a green shirt.
It's funny, but when I saw the guy in the green shirt, I said to myself: "I bet that's Bill." :yep What position did Sikahema play in the NFL?
I'm not really sure, but I know he was in the NFL. He was the one who did the famous punching of the goal post.
I can also be seen shaddow boxing just to the right of the blond's head in the mirror. Kind of hard to see, but I still saw my self none the less.
I saw Sikahema recently at one of the Blue Horizon events. Didn't know he boxed-he was about 185 in his NFL days-he was a return specialist, & he was pretty DAMN good. He was in the league for a long time due to his skills on special teams. Wasn't the fastest guy, but he had terrific instincts in the return game.
