The fact that a super fat 5'9 230 pound obese fighter could actually eat those punches without much problem, and when he got inside (which wasnt that hard...he could actually hit him) the only reason he didint win exchanges on the inside is because he wouldnt throw much, likely because he knew he would gas out.
The assumption here is that this a prime "on-night" version of Valuev, which it is not. However, he still wins going away. Since I am assuming everyone is imagining a prime Marciano for this match, why don't we refer to the Liakhovic fight for our Valuev estimation. Valuev doesn't have the clout to KO Marciano outright, but he does have enough size, strength and output to wear him down. Meanwhile, he has a chin of absolute granite. Marciano's punching power is already overrated. Having to reach for that cro-mag chin is only going to diffuse his overrated power. Marciano takes a decent but close and sloppy decision on his best night.
Having a 300 Lbs man leaning on you would do that. Also Valuv showed decent head movement. The punches Dominguez did throw on the inside did miss.
I'm not convinced Valuev has little power, he just wasn't sharp.. at least Monte noted him down as the hardest to hit him...
Don't mind Seamus he's always going off half cocked like this and looking like a dick when people call him on it.
