This is off topic Rummy, you better watch out, The Professor's gonna delete it. I hope he doesn't though, I'm looking forward to watching it later tomorrow, for what its worth.. here's my 2 cents. Rocky 4 Rocky 2 Rocky Balboa Rocky 3 Creed Rocky 5
Rocky I - 9/10 Rocky II - 9/10 Rocky III - 8/10 Rocky IV - 8/10 Rocky V - 6/10 Rocky Balboa- 8/10 Creed - 7/10
What do you think? Clearly I have a Drago fetish. That movie basically inspired most of my EE Educate Yourselves thread titles. Along with Red Dawn and Red Heat of course.
I II V (LOVED George Washington Duke aka. Movie Don King) Balboa IV Creed III Even the worst of them are still solid movies tbh.
Rocky 1 by far the best. You could relate to Rocky as a character and where he came from. It felt genuine. The rest of the series was meh. 3 and 4 were the standouts imo thanks to the memorable villains played by Mr T and Lundgren. I'd probably take 4 over 3, I think. Of course in the real world both Rocky and Drago get bust for industrial amounts of peds and get 6 month suspensions. Meanwhile, guided by Don King, Clubber Lang mounts a comeback and sews up the world title for 5 years
I still think when Drago killed Apollo it is one of the most shocking scenes in cinema history. Up there with Robocop when that machine malfunctions and kills that dude "you have 10 seconds to comply". The referee was a joke though, shoulda stopped that long before, I mean people on here like to criticise the 'British Stoppages' all the time, but you watch that footage back and brings it all home, tragedies like that can and will happen when you don't jump in early enough. Wouldn't have happened on British soil. RIP Apollo.
Rocky still makes me cry when I watch it, I love that film. The rest I'm not so bothered about really. Looking forward to rummys bid when I'm back on the Wi-Fi
I always loved IV as a kid it just felt so epic and tragic and wonderful all at the same time. But as an adult looking back, if they had just released Rocky I and then all those years later Rocky VI, I think you would have had some perfect cinema there.
2 (great sequel, great movie in general) 3 (controversial choice but its got hulk frikin hogan) Balboa (brought the series full circle and was an appropriate ending) 4 (entertaining as hell but ridiculous) 5 (not really nessasary but the street fight was cool) Creed (not for me, Balboa rounded things off nicely, i found this one depressing it's like rocky has been through all this now paulie is dead, his friends are awol and ge barely sees his son oh and he has cancer but look this kid almost beats tony bellew...)
It’s made. Creeds son fights Drago’s son, and Dolph is back as Ivan. Hopefully with more dialogue this time.
