    Is Marvin giving this interview to an Italian reporter or something? His accent and English is very funny and broken at times

    I think Hagler's been living in Italy for a long time now, almost back to his retirement from the ring.

    I saw an interview he did once with an English interviewer and occasionally he'd lapse into Italian accented English.

    Always got the impression he just retired to Italy and lived a quiet life....and did some films.

    The Italian accent is just Hagler fitting in and trying to be personable and likeable within the interview. I've seen him in recently interviews in the US and he didn't remotely sound like that.

    Perhaps but where ya live influnces your speech to some extent.

    I was in Australia for 4-5 years and when i got back people were fairly amused at my lingo.

    Have noticed the same when spending periods of time with say a Scottish person in Spain, there accent becomes more Scottish.......broader.
