How many southpaws have dominated him? On the average a southpaw wins as many rounds as the usual Floyd opponent. Zab did trouble him but he still won like two rounds against Floyd, not really a "southpaw trouble". Plus he had patience to find those shots against Floyd, Pacquiao doesn't. Using that fight as a "Oh Zab had his moments so Pacquiao will do better and win more rounds!" kind of thing is ineffective.

The guy who gave him the most problem is Castillo but the first fight could've gone either way and Castillo threw short punches, was a great bodypuncher, very good inside, and could cut off the ring. Can't say the same for Pacq. Floyd still beat him clearly in a rematch though Castillo won 4 rounds at least.

Therefore a fight with Pacquiao will be different. Pacquiao does not share most of the qualities of Castillo and Zab.

With Pacquiao/Morales/Marquez it's different. Pacquiao has had his lack of technical skills exploited by Morales and Marquez in the past but they're still there. Look at the third fight with Marquez. Floyd is smarter, MUCH slicker, quicker, faster, and just overall better than JMM so it's not just a matter of styles making fights. Pacq has too much to deal with that will give him troubles.

Marquez did get hit with sneaky punches a credit to Pacq but most of his shots did not land and Marquez fights best with his opponents coming to him the same with Pacq. He used good pivoting and lateral movement around his opponent yet was present to be hit most of the fight. Floyd has better footwork a better jab and can actually walk down Pacq. Unlike Marquez he can still fight very effectively leading as evidenced by him walking down bigger men in Ortiz & Mosley(who I was surprised he even walked down). Pacq will get too frustrated and countered silly. He can't set his shots up against Floyd as he doesn't know how to fight at a slower pace(going back to what I said about patience. remember Shane set his big right hand up before landing it with a body jab + overhand right and even Zab did that with jab feints and that straight left) His best bet is if Floyd's age gets to him. If that isn't happening, Pacquiao isn't winning. Still deserves credit for the win.

Pacq makes A LOT of mistakes. Crossing feet, being off balance, following his opponent,etc. Floyd's gonna kill that man. "If you make ANY mistakes, ya have to pay...."
