No im a boxing fan, and when the referee makes a mistake i have every right to complain about it.

Im not talking about him getting Ko'd, thats already been established when Jones was out on his feet.

Here are some boxing rules: If a fighter does not have the means/ability to protect themselves, then the referee must protect that fighter by stopping the fight. Did RJJ look like he was going to throw an archie moore possum shot while he was out on his feet? The answer is no

It was a horrendously late stoppage, and that last punch could have been seriously damaging.

End of argument, now go get ready for the Degale and Cleverly fight

 

I'm just disappointed that all these posters in here are making a big deal out of Jones getting the usual KTFO. What do you mean by "validate who you are"? This is a public forum that you and I have been here for many years. i don't bother to post as much as you for obvious reasons.

I was expecting you to post some childish comment, but you are right.
Comon, you know Smoger is that kind of referee and is not involved in any controversial fights that I know of anyway. Perhaps he was trying to allow Jones to end the fight. There were only a few seconds left and did not want Jones to lose by KO.

Smoger was a half-tick too late. He's a great referee but there was no need for that last shot.

 

He was nowhere near an All time great ,and he would not be competitive with RJ Prime for Prime .

He has no defense , His style was made for Roy. RJJ TKO/KO

i got to say smodger was very slow there considering roy was defensless. that last punch should of never of happened. That last punch is what knocked roy proper out cold.

 

more proof if ever we needed why jones doesen't hang with real all time greats

1 - his chin is an absoloute disgrace, pure grade A china

2 - he cannot adapt during a fight if plan A isn't working

3 - when faced with adversity he folds like a lawn chair

4 - he's never been the same since he stopped taking banned anabolic steroids.

That stoppage was the reversal of Roy at his best. Remember when he did the exact same shoulder shrug to the referee for letting Vinny Paz take that beating he was administering. All a fighter can do is try to finish it off humanely, i.e. quickly as possible: the way Roy did with Vinny and the way Denis just did with Roy.
Roy needs to recognize the reversal of fortune here and hang them up.
