Its not bulllshitting, its all in the interpretation of what he what he said. Taken in the context of that single standalone quote it can mean either what you think he meant or what I think he meant. The context of the whole interview might shed more light on that comment but one quote that can be interpreted in different ways can hardly be said to have a "very clear meaning".

There is no proof that your interpretation is any more valid than mine, specifically because your interpretation is not a hundred miles away from my one, it is just more extreme in one direction than mine. Your interpretations saying Calzaghe knew he would lose so wouldn't take the fight without a massive payday while mine says that he thought might lose and didn't see the point of taking the fight without a massive payday since he had an easy-money deal with the WBO.

I'm not saying your interpretation is wrong, but I would appreciate it if you dont itimate that I'm an idiot just because I interpreted it a different way to you.

 

Anyone with any common sense knows that the ''tough fights'' comment from Joe was a red herring. He was so talented only guys with big hearts like Eubank would fight him, look what a green Joe did to him, so of course he was trying PR to push the glass hearted Jones into some confidence because he was used to fighting sanitation workers and other Ameribum hypejobs pumped up by their networks. Behind the scenes everyone knows Joe did all he could to fight these big names and until Lacey, none of them would, after Lacey it was even harder!

A shot to pieces semi-retired Joe brutalised prime Hopkins and near prime Jones, Rojo's and HopoSexuals have to accept this:deal

 

That's the answer if Joe was a legacy fighter with ambitions to prove himself the best. He wasn't. He was the spiritual successor of Chris Eubank. Calzaghe was in boxing to make money, not to make people acknowledge him as the best fighter in the world or the "ultimate ATG superstar", and if he could make money by taking easy fights defending his paper title without having to take any big risks against fighters who could potentially beat him then that's exactly what he was going to do.

 

Would have loved to see Jones do the commentary for the Hopkins Cloud fight, the bitterness would have overcame him.

 

Great to see the legendary Anglosaxon back on ESB to educate the ignorant and speak only the truth. Zaghe haters love to ignore the facts, which were that big money offers were put down for the likes of Hopkins and Ottke to step in the ring with prime Calzaghe around this time, and both guys shamefully looked the other way

 

Another reason why Jones likes Calzaghe is because when they faced off Calzaghe agreed to a 50/50 split despite being the bigger name in the fight (at that time) allowing no dollar Jones to pocket a final big career pay day.

Yeah Hopkins if still winning titles because of a low wrokrate, nothing to do with the fact he has solid chin (Jones didn't) he has a plan B (Jones didn't) he can pick himself up after getting dropped (Jones couldn't) he was able to adjust his style as he got older (Jones couldn't) and the fact his general ring IQ makes Jones look mentally ******ed in comparison.

Yes Hopkins has had boring fights and yes Jones looked fabulous juiced up fighting bin men and taxi drivers but there's no doubt he'd trade in those glorious nights where he beat Glen Kelly and Otis Grant to be in Hopkins position now still winning titles and still making real money not needing to rap for cash in Russia.

 

Hopkins fights like John Ruiz did. Who cares? Does winning that way matter? His fights are boring, ugly, and he clinches, wrestles, grabs, holds, and fakes low blows.

I am certainly no Jones fan but he is correct about Hopkins. The guy throws one punch then leads with his head and clinches.

 

Yes, Jones also looked fabulous whipping Hopkins' ass with a broken hand, was that just because Hopkins was tired from driving taxi cabs all night?

I always laugh at those can driver comments ,you know how many boxers have to take a 2 nd gig to make ends meet when they are not making millions'? I find it very disrespectful towards any boxer as I know many guys on the come up holding down an extra job while training their asses off to make a better life for them as well as their families .
