Wow, even though this is old news, it just hits home that much harder seeing Mosley, who has been one of the nicest and most stand-up guys in the sport for years, admit to taking EPO. It really is stunning seeing him admit to this during the interview.

The Mayweather/Pac negotiations, I feel, tainted the discussion of USADA style drug testing in Boxing (as opposed to commission-based testing done on a state by state basis). it certainly is an anomaly for a fighter (Floyd in this case) to demand testing beyond NSAC standards during fight negotiations. But in no way, NO WAY at all, is it bad for the sport(s) as a whole. If it was NSAC voluntary proposing these standards (and they have been pondering over this for years, it is a logistical nightmare getting it done though on a widespread level) as opposed to Floyd demanding it during negotiations, I think there would be no "debate" as to the validity of USADA style drug testing. ALL athletes, boxers included, benefit from such testing, and fans benefit as well by knowing they are not being duped by supposed "superstar"-like performing athletes.

Either way, I think Shane learned from his mistake and has definitely gone above and beyone to show that he is still a stand-up, clean guy. Thanks for the video post, very interesting.

I absolutely agree with you, and I am a huge Mayweather fan....im especially worried about Mosley's overhand right (same punch that Marquez caught Floyd with, twice)...even though Mayweather keeps his head tucked behind his shoulder and rolls to avoid straight rights, the LOOPING overhand rights that Shane throws (preceded by a pitty pat jab to the stomach for example) is what I think can and WILL find its home against Mayweather. Mayweather will have to take some shots, and I think he will, but ultimately, he should outbox Mosley to a UD12.

 

Just rewatched vid, not once did he admit to knowing it was illegal, just that he knew it was EPO. That said it would simply be a case of whether you believe him or not then.

Still doesn't change the fact that he cheated, knowingly or unknowingly.

Im guessing he probably did know they were illegal.

As for Margo, a hard pad fell out of his wraps and he claims he didnt know that illegal c'mon, 20 years of boxing and wrapping your hands and you dont know whats suppose to be there...?

Basically:

SSM: I took substance A, B, and C.
Grand Jury: Subtance C is EPO.
SSM: OK. I took EPO.

Then they present this BS clip later saying

Lawyer: Did you know you took EPO?
SSM: Yes.

Wow. That is some shady heavily edited crap to make Shane look really bad. Nothing worse than manipulated video.

It still doesn't look all that great, but this is a guy talking about minute details X number of years ago. I wonder how all this plays out.

He has to be told what he took again?

He obviously knew by now and would of said something more along the lines of, Yes I took EPO but I did not know it at the time.

Not, Yes " i guess"
