Damn good video Rummy.:good One of your best so far. Great summarization.

And I'd forgotten all about Rock Newman, he always struck me as a huge sleazebag even as a kid.

Bowe definitely takes him out from 92-94, 95 I'd still have picked Bowe with not with as much confidence, and it was all downhill from there.

Bowe vs Lewis prime for prime, Bowe would have beat Lewis in a close affair. Maybe a Knockout with the right uppercut which I felt was Bowes best punch.

    Very good vid Rummy.

One of my top "never happened" fights in HW history. And big part of that was of what we now know as a-side vs b-side s__t.
Bowe offered his mandatory a couple of deals, knowing very well that Lennox probably wouldn't agree with that, knowing that waiting for purse bids would make sure he'd make multiple times that figure and Bowe significantly less, against the best fighter he'd ever face.

Did Lennox expect Bowe to drop the belt? I don't know, maybe he did. Maybe Bowe told him he would do that if he wouldn't agree to the terms and Lennox just thought "then you just take the ridicule and I take the belt".

It's clear that Canelo didn't want it to go to pursebids either. At that point dictating terms goes overboard and purses would be divided somewhat fairly. No catchweights (!!!) and no deciding the venue unless his side won the pursebid.

In both cases neither wanted to deal with something every boxer not named Floyd has to deal with; Pursebids! Not being in control no matter what your status is and the status of your opponent.
Having to fight the best contender available at the time and not being able to move all the sliders in your advantage. No bowls of handpicked only green M&M's in your 5 star hotelroom so to speak.

LL was, is and always will be the king. RB was very solid HW. The end of story.

People forget that Lewis ko'd Bowe in the Olympics and that was 1 of the reasons Bowe didn't want the fight, Lewis would of ko'd Bowe again if they fought and Bowe knew it.

It's the same situation with Canelo, him and his people say they dropped the belt because of money but we all know that the reason he dropped the belt was because he fears that he will get ko'd.

Cmon, he koed Bowe in the Olympics? The footage in the video shows Bowe very capable of continuing that fight. None the less in the pros, Bowe at that time was more battle tested and imo would have beaten Lewis had they fought back then. BUT.... people forget...:patsch How can any fan of the sport who's followed for years and years ever forget about the Bowe-Lewis saga? Was the throwing of the WBC title in the trash forgetable? I don't think so.

Bowe wins in the 92-94 period.

Lewis looked pretty average against a faded Tucker, and was losing to Bruno at the time of the stoppage. He wasn't the finished product yet.

    Horrendous comment.

Bowe and Roy Jones were both victims of blatant anti- American corruption at the 88 Olympics.
