that if being, if vitali had continued, he'd -

    1. lose his vision and retire

    2. wlad wouldn't have someone to rescue him after retired sanders kills him instantly and therefore his reign also ends in the early 2000s.

3.mercifully, klitscko "era" never ever begins.

Lewis mum stated after the fight under no circumstances do you fight that man again
And lewis did as his mum told him its that simple

I think that the always biased and terrible HBO commentary did a fine job in degrading Lewis' efforts in this fight.

Just one of the more glaring examples: towards the end of the 6th, Lewis throws a short left-right combo to Vitalis temple in a clinch which results in Vitali stumbling around like a drunk and hanging onto Lennox for his dear life in order not to fall down. Guess what the ******** Lampley had to say about that? "It's all Lennox Lewis can do to stand up".

George Foreman: "I think Klitschko is landing the harder punches" ... *Lewis
    wobbles Klitschko with a jab*

But you love the authentic fraud Grabimir Klinchko who never in a million years would've fought as hard as Lewis did to keep his belts.
Go back to to the thunder dome boxing talk comment section ya filthy degenerate .

After beating Vitali, Lennox was speaking of a rematch with Tyson *OR* fighting RJJ Jr. He had already beaten Tyson, but was still interested in fighting him again. So your argument "Lennox already beat him" doesn't really hold any water does it?

When the WBC mandated that Lennox had to face Vitali once again he quit. I think Lennox would have stuck around for a very easy big money fight like RJJ, but had no interest in a tougher fight.

Lennox wasn't scared (he's a fighter after all, one the greatest ever). Lewis was the favorite vs. Vitali for a rematch. But he didn't want to test himself at this level anymore. Too old, not hungry enough, not ambitious enough. Lennox was only interested in lower hanging fruit at that stage in his career.

Or it was his first live opponent since Holyfield and Mercer prior to Holyfield.

Either way Lewis wasn't fat, he'd had a good camp for Johnson.

Sad part is If he'd only stayed focused & prepared properly for McCall & Rahman he'd have been totally unbeaten & rated by everyone as one of the greatest HW champs ever. He was making that movie & living it up with Brad Pitt & co instead of getting to SA early enough to aclimatise. As it is I still rate Lennox as the best since Ali. If only Ali had left at the right time things may have been easier for him

Not true. AFTER the fight was stopped Vitali stomped around the ring complaining !! Remember this is the same Vitali that QUIT against light hitting Chris Byrd claiming a rotator cuff injury!! The same injury Pacquaio went 12 rounds with against Mayweather and you try to diss Pac man
A 100% Lennox would have KO'd Vitali in a rematch.
Lennox retired at exactly the right time He is enjoying a Happy Healthy Wealthy retirement with his wonderful family. The sort of retirement I wish ALL fighters could have

If only... get a grip Lewis fans have more excuses regarding his performances than anything I've ever seen.

"Lucky punches", "not taking training seriously", etc.
