Because that's what you are saying in regards to Lewis, who was actually 37 at the time and in his previous fight against the corpse of Tysoe all the pundits and fans where claiming he was prime and the best he could of been.

In truth Vitali was the first solid opponent he had faced since Holyfield.

Not sure Lewis was prime against Tyson. He'd just aged way better the Iron Mike, who was a shell of the fighter he was by then. A very poor Tyson made Lewis look fresher than he actually was in my view....

 

No I'm in full agreement, but I remember the British commentary, media, fans of Lewis claiming he was still evolving as a fighter.

There is a big jump in levels from that version of Tysoe to Vitali and I fully agree that Tyson made Lewis look fresher than he actually was.

A bit like how Pulev did Wlad, who imo has been slipping for a good few years now.

Some fighters have been unlucky and had real bad decision against them and over a decade later people don't bang on about it.

This fight had no bad judges, no dodgy stoppage yet 13 years later Vitali fans still go on like there fighter was cheated somehow either in the fight or because he never got a rematch.
