I've been away for a week hence my silence.. Firstly let me say that I was a completly different fighter to the one being shown here, I'd had only had 20 odd bouts at this stage and was already ABA Champion and 4 Nations Champion. I went through the whole ABA's in the second year with a broken right hand, Against my coaches advice and also had to keep it away from the ABA as they would have pulled me out, The plan for the fight was to get him to trade and it worked although going into a trading match with just 1 hand is not advisable so I stress don't do it but everything is easier when looking back and retaining my ABA title meant everything to me so I just carried on through the terrible pain, I almost come a cropper in my first fight of them championships against peter craig as he's the guy I broke my hand on and then I had to fight another 3 times in 4 weeks to win the title, I did so and had a good layoff, JLD is a good kid and a nice boxer but let it be known I had 1 hand.. I wish him all the best in the future and hope he does really well... Thanks for the support too guys...
Not got it on DVD mate, Everytime I wach it I still look back and think about the night I went to bed in complete pain in my whole body.... How I boxed 6 days later I will never ever know...
Im not mate, Im really proud of what I achieved as an amateur I really am, I always knew the pro game was for me, Just wanted to let people know what was going on behind the scenes, I have some of the greatest memories of my life so far in a vest and headguard.. :good As for on the ontheup, I see you are back having little pops at me fella, I've missed you,
No worries Toney but like i said what you achieved as an amateur was outstanding, i just do not think you have the tools at lhw to be a true force at world level and i mean look at Dawson and Pascal, u will be better when you move up and I can put my hand on my heart and beat my life on it.
Tony, realistically how far away do you think you are to a clash with Cleverly? And, in an ideal world what fights would you like to have over the next 12 months?
Your entitled to your opinion mate, I disagree, Im the biggest LHW out there and believe I can punch with the best of them, Im not sayinng I'll do dawson for 1 min but I'll be more than competetive with anyone and if I land a clean shot than I can stretch anyone and I mean anyone at LHW, I can also stay in a boxing match with top guys too, You are yet to see this but I have represented my country on numerous occasions round the world have never been given a boxing lesson, Im too proud and work too hard for that to happen.. I'll gladly prove you wrong mate.. Im hoping to fight Cleverly in the next 12 - 18 months too mate, Im ready for him as soon as Frank wants to make thhe match up..:good I'd like my next 3 fights to be something like this, Ajisafe,McIntosh and then maybe say Yusef mack or someone in that mould?? Thaanks again guys it's much appreciated the support and intrest..:good
Where's the Ajisafe fight going to be at Tony? Haven't seen it advertised round Liverpool so doubting it will be at the Echo Arena. Wouldn't mind an away trip tho
It's a special charity do called the Debra, Frank does it every year.. I've been told that sky are picking it up?? It's in London on a Friday fight night.. Im looking forward to it and can't wait to get Ajisafe in a ring..:good
Cheers Tony, I've heard the prices for that are a bit steep so have to stick with the ald tele. Good luck anyway, I'm sure you'll smash him
