Great video as always Rummy. While I was expecting more fireworks than we got in the first I wasn't disappointed. Great fight watching Usyks adjustments. Not sure weighing more helped Fury as much as it hurt him.
Even though this fight didn't have the drama or an exciting moment like the first one, from a pure boxing standpoint it was a highly entertaining contest. Great fight, and great video Rummy Also kudos to the ref, he did a great job officiating this match. I forgot he was there most of the time, except when a clinch went on too long. That's the way it ought be!
Not as good or dramatic as the first fight but still a good display of boxing from both men where Usyk was the better man. Fury fought a much different fight. He did not clown at all, he moved a lot less, he threw his jab with more authority, he came forward more, spent less time on the ropes but had a much smaller punch variety with his uppercut being less prevalent and none of the wide right hooks. Usyk had lower activity with his punch totals but put more steam on his shots earlier. I did like Fury trying southpaw too. There were a few rounds where if Fury just was busier he may have taken them. I thought round 12 was fairly competitive.
Anyone else notice Rumsfeld’s video being shown during the DAZN event? I’m surprised no one else is mentioning this. Well deserved to @Rumsfeld
Good video Rummy. On the night I thought 115-113 either way or a draw would be the most fair call with a slight edge to Usyk. It was competitive throughout, but the run through rounds 6-8 is ultimately what sealed the deal. That was the most dominant stretch either had in what was otherwise a very close and competitive fight throughout. Despite the shenanigans from Fury leading up the fights, I think both delivered and will go down as classics when all is said and done.
My immediate thoughts at the end of the 2nd fight was that the 116-112 scorecard was more fitting of the 1st fight and that last night's fight was a much closer affair befitting of a SD in Usyk's favour. Fury boxed a good deal better last night for me and the fight was much closer than in May.
