HBO should really look for another setup instead of trying to sell Salido as an opponent again. (Guy has taken too much punishment)

Dig up a Gamboa or get Walters in there instead. Salido is and has been on his last leg for like 5 years already.

My pre-recording ritual was no different this time than any other.

Do you really think all of those guys are as good as Lomachenko? And what do you attribute that to? Just a good program? Specific team of coaches?

Anatoly who's Loma's father and trainer was their Olympic coach I believe. You can see him in Usyk's corner in the matches I put up of him.

And skillset wise they're as close as anyone that big could come to Lomachenko.

Usyk will basically demand US TV exposure if he does the number on Glowacki that I think he will.

Stylistically Kovalev and Gvozdyk would make for a very complex fight, I lean Kovalev but wouldn't rule out Oleksandr, and I know I'm probably in the minority here with what I'm about to say, but I think he stops Beterbiev and has a style to not only stop Ward but to outbox him, he's got a nightmarish style for Ward to have to deal with.

Loma doesn't need to rematch Salido, waste of time

I disagree, and don't think you need to look any further than some of the criticisms Wladimir receives for not having avenged any of his 3 losses, barring the one he avenged years later when it was no longer relevant. At this moment in time, Lomachenko has been presented with an opportunity that he should pounce on immediately.

Avenging a loss against a guy who literally was fighting dirty, over the weight limit, fouling, etc...not necessary, we already know Salido didn't win because he was the better fighter, he won cause he was allowed to get away with dirty tactics. Loma dont have to avenge that

It's still a loss in the record books. The rematch is definitely necessary. I mean he avenged his losses in the amatuers, why not avenge your only loss in the pros too? Make it happen, sooner the better.

I want to see it. I think it would give us an indication of how he progressed in his transition to the pros. I suspect he's capable of being "crafty" in the same mold of a Bernard Hopkins or an Andre Ward or a Carlos Molina this time around, and I would be interested in seeing them have a second go.

Thanks Robney. And building on my post just above this - I agree it was close - but I want to see what Lomachenko can do against Salido. If he does a little better he SHOULD win. But what happens if he does a lot better? What happens if he does worse? I'm terrible at making predictions, but I know this is a fight I'd like to see, and I think it makes sense for both guys.

I think some people (not you) are understating what a rematch victory can mean for Lomachenko in the grand scheme.

Why? Because I would rather watch Loma fight fighters that match his talent, we all know Salido dont
