He was brutal. My friend who is competing in the Euro karate championship in Germany in a few months would have destroyed him.

So what? I don't get it....
not only it probably doesn't exist, as far as i know, a boxer that never got defeat considering his amateur career; even Rocky "the rock" Marciano got defeat in the amateurs, if i reckon correctly...
But this is not even boxing, is it? So what exactly is the point?
I do believe he even lost a lot of chess matches, and that i could beat him every time on videogame boxing, but how is this related to boxing and his professional boxing career?
    I just don't get it

Kinda have my doubts about the article about him saying he got stopped due to a kick to the thigh as he admitted to just being stopped elsewhere.

He did deny Maskaev claims of stopping him in the AMs saying it was due to injury.
This later got confirmed by more sources.

Yep he denied this happened, he pretended he didn't know who Pele was then later said it was just an injury from a kick to the thigh.

I know it's mostly out of hand with the Vitali hate on this board, but there's a big difference between Vitali's steroid aduse and the Reid KO.

Vitali himself brought up the steroid issue in his biography. He admitted it without being pushed from the outside. When asked about the Pele Reid KO (even if it was in another sport and 20 years ago) he was adamant this never happened. He flat out denied it.

Vitali is no doubt a proud man but a man can admit his weaknesses, mistakes and defeats. This doesn't mean he's not a very good boxer, I just question his character a wee bit more than I used to.

He was also young back then, when you're young you still don't have that "chin prime".
But even the great chin David Tua could get TKO'd with one punch by Savon.

But Vitali took a nice spinning kick and he reminded me of Lewis-Rahman for a moment.

Just proves, even iron can be cracked.

Also his smaller brother always got up without help :D, Vitali was taking a nice rest.
Wladimir also never got knocked out in an amateur match (atleast not boxing amateur match)

    Oh well whatever.

I think the opposite, his defence looks sharp, he is judging range well, head movement good, countering down the middle, good jab. Looks solid.

Great kick from Reid, right on the button.

Anyone can be hurt, there are a lot of posters on this site with zero fight experience that make themselves look very stupid with the constant chin talk.

****ing hell man, get that sand out of your vagina.

If a video of any other top boxer getting knocked out in a different sport surfaced there would be just as much, if not more interest in.

Vitali has a great chin and has never been down in the boxing ring, with many people for years believing he'd never been knocked out in his life. All the while there were rumours that he had been stopped once before, in a kick boxing match, but no one had seen it. Then Vitali denies that he's ever been knocked out.

With that in mind, you're actually getting your panties in a twist about a bunch of boxing fans on a boxing forum posting in a thread where this mythical video is being shared? I think if anyone here has a bit of a problem it's you. Ok, we understand you like this guy, but that doesn't mean you have to act like a girl every time there is a conversation about Vitali that isn't necessarily positive.

    It's pathetic. Sort it out.

Thats not a roundhouse kick, its a spinning heel kick and its the hardest strike a humancan throw by far, but almost impossible to land.

Here is probably the most famous example

Denying a ko is stupid by Vitali, you would remember the name of the guy who ko'ed you, but is there any more source than this one article? Did he deny it in his biography?
