I am a huge Ward fan, but I dont like this fight for him. When Dawson is motivated and on, he cannot be beat from 175-200 lbs. Dawson, fast hands, good combination punching. Advantage in speed, better jab, range etc.

Then again maybe a docile Dawson shows up and Ward dominates him. Just saying I dont like messing with Chad Dawson his potential is too high IMO.

    Yep.

Is this fight gonna be at a catchweight if it ever happens?

Probably at a catchweight, I'm guessing 173. Dawson says he's willing to move down, but it would be no point for Dawson campaign in the SMW division. I don't think Ward has plans to move up yet.

Ward is the money man in this fight, so if it takes place, it will be at 168.

Dawson with all his athletic gifts, must be close to being one of the dumbest fighters out there for exploiting his talents.

Ward will beat Dawson at 168 and would beat at 175.

It will be at 168. Ward has already declared it is not fair he should have to leave his comfortzone.

Andre Ward is going to be the first boxer commentator that doesn't suck.

and he'll do it for a long time.. i could tell he's trained and likes doing it and he's very naturally good at it (much more than any other boxer I've seen thus far)

im a video game commentator lol.. so i kinda watch these things.

They all do.. till they get beat. I have Dawson winning, possibly even by KO since Ward does have a very questionable jaw..

Just meet in the middle and make it a 171 catchweight I guess.

    Bad timing for this fight!

Ward NEEDS to completely clean up at 168 while there is still reasonable comp there. Of course there should be a vs. Bute fight if he gets past the Cobra in convincing fashion.

Don't forget a vs. Dirrell also! (either one)

I would hate to have the "but Ward never fought the remaining good fighters at 168" talk.

Now I like Chad and give him props on his skill and work ethic but I lost alot of respect after the Pascal (lookout for that right hand, Chad) fight.
Ok, he looked good against B-Hop but Chad is a good "styles make fights" fighter.
Throw him in with another come forward puncher like Cloud (if he gets past Pascal) not to mention Cleverly is looking for a fight.

Ward vs. Dawson is a good fight for the sport, but the outcome could change the landscape at 168-175 completely... Good and bad
