On a scale of 1 to 10, how confident are you that Joshua would win? And just as a point of reference, what was your confidence level on Wilder-Stiverne I and Canelo-Khan?

I don't know what you and pimp c see so athletic about Wilder. I see a cartoonish character with poor balance, no coordination, matchstick legs that don't match the rest of his body.

Wilder looks fast against 40 year olds like Stiverne and Ortiz. Maybe we have different definition of athleticism?

When I see AJ I see an athlete on the level of Russell Westbrook, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Odell Beckham jr etc. To me they are on the same level give or take. I never ever watch Wilder and see a world class athlete.

AJ is the face of under armour, and Wilder is on PBC beer bottles.

Its definitely a lot closer than I had originally thought. Wilder while lacking in technique still has basic fundamentals like the Jab and 1-2 combination, along with the god given explosive power that can bail him out of any situation at any given time.

Joshua has the skillset, jaw shattering power, but can fight to his opponents pace at times. Wilder being the less talented of the two would have to risk more to get to AJ While Joshua sit back and pick his shots while setting up the counters.

I think its just about even going in, but with 2 power punchers like wilder and joshua, it comes down to who can take the others punches better and keep pushing foward. Its an excellent fight but I like Wilders shot at a KO here. I would be shocked if it went the full 12 rounds.

Joshua, the stiff upright robot, reminds you of Russell Westbrook and Odell? Yeah. You crazy.

I agree with your assessment of Wilder. Just that the exact conclusion applies to Joshua and then some.

My thoughts go along with the general majority on Joshua/Wilder, that Joshua is the favorite... but it's impossible to watch Wilder/Ortiz and Joshua/Parker and then walk away from them thinking that Wilder now has less of a chance than you thought before. Def narrowed the gap quite a bit in my mind. Certainly could see scenarios where Wilder wins it. That said, I still think Joshua smashes the chin in. Unfortunately... Much could change but at the moment I'd be rooting for Wilder hard if they fought (and I do dislike Wilder, for what that's worth).

Who around would beat the winner of this fight?

Ortiz and Parker both already lost, ortiz is too old to come again and Parker wasnt really competetive

Povetkin is old and slipping and has an outside chance at best

Fury... well ok if fury comes back at close to 100% theres him

I dont back the cruiserweight hypes to go 12 rounds without getting hit by something life threatening to them

    Otherwise who is there?

Like it or not they have basically cleaned out the division already

Wilder got outboxed badly, was one punch away from being knocked out and pulled out a hail mary at the end.

Lets also remember this was an ortiz who looked plodding and basic against Scott and domestic level dave allen. PLUS he was off the PED's he was on back when he looked good a few years ago.

Joshua parker was boring but joshua soundly outboxed him showing he can fight to a gameplan, keep his composure and go 12 rounds.

The gap did widen to me, joshua has shown multiple ways to win a fight, wilder has one, survive being schooled and beaten up long enough to land a silly shot.

Unfortunately for wilder with how easy he is to hit, he won't survive long enough against Joshua.

I think people underrate Wilder juuuuust a tad. I say many of the same things. But not to the extent many seem to.

And I guess a major point of difference is that I did not see Joshua "soundly outboxing" Parker at all. Not even close to that.

Well not literally  I just recognize them as top level athletes.
I'm well aware that Joshua can look robotic when he goes against skilled smaller guys who move a lot like Takam and Parker.

And he can look fast and explosive against foes like Molina and Whyte.

Given AJ's last 2 performances since the Wlad fight, the fear of getting hit in the face and gassing out is going to be his undoing. If he stays too cautious and gives too much respect to Wilder, it will be his undoing. Wilder has proven in the Ortiz fight that he can take a punch better than AJ and in all his fights he has proven to have much better late round stamina and he carries his power later and will not gas out from throwing Windmills.

    This is a 50-50 fight.

Well put. I'm not sure if it will be AJ's undoing, but it could prove to be so if he's lacking confidence in his own abilities.
