I know I know, Im probably the only one that is looking forward to this grueling affair, but I thought that maybe there might just be somebody else out there. Some of you may recall that I was the guy looking for info. on Skelton for a bio. article for my colleges' newspaper a few months back. As it turned out, I had to scrap the idea for now because there just isn't enough out there on him (again, if anybody knows some stuff on him outside of the obvious, pm me). Anyway, both have pretty ugly styles, but I view this match up to be fairly even. Vidoz was recently robbed vs. Sinan, but maybe he can rally. I think that Skelton's number one challenge outside of the obvious is inactivity which more than likely means that he will show up overweight. Like him or not (as most of you probably don't), I think Skelton pulls this one off by decision. Any thoughts?
i would have done but a few weeks ago i read this is going out on sky italia sports , which is a ppv channel sportsitalia which normally shows italian boxing for free has been sidelined. not just frank warren and hbo that know how to limit there fanbase for boxing.
vidoz, because skelton will be penalised for anything and everything he does . without skelton being allowed to adopt his rough house tactics he cannot win except by ko. if it was at a nuetral venue, skelton to walk through vidoz and grind him down and win on points or late stoppage. having watched countless fights between brits and italians in european title fights i cannot think of a single occasion in 30 years that i have followed the sport where the brit won a points descion in italy. in world title fights with world judges , yep a few britis like johnny nelson have won and many britis have won by koing the italian fighter but none that i can think off in a european title fight have ever won on poinsts in my memory. can skelton be the first i a very dubious. no slant on vidoz, he has travveled many times to opponents backyards and is an honest and hard working trier and he could well beat skelton without the help of the judges.
Oh yeah, I totally forgot that this fight was being held in Italy. In that case, I am leaning more towards Vidoz, but who knows? I like both guys, but am probably more a fan of Skelton, so I will be routing for him.
I know that Skelton is notorious for using rough house tactics, but what kind of tactics does he use exactly?
:yep Likes to use the head Holyfield style in close, and like to wrestle his opponent into the ropes holding him with 1 hand and hitting with the other. He fights like Bear!! its obvious he used compete in MMA fights years ago, all the same i must say i enjoy watchin his rough wrestling style of fighting!! I think Skelton will win, even with the fight taking place in Italy!!
I like it too Time-Bomb, and I haven't even seen the majority of his fights. I have only seen one or two plus a lot of his mma stuff. I like the guy, he seems nice enough.
I remember Frank Bruno using rough house tactics in most of his fights as well. How far is Bruno's hometown from Skelton's?
skelton comes from a sattelitte town next to london and bruno from inner city south london , moved to east london. i used to see bruno every week. odd tid bit bruno used to use the steam room and massuer at romford road swimming baths . his massuer lennox lewis dad yet another bit of useless info
when he was boxing in his prime , he would walk around on his own with no entourage and any kids/adults that approched him he would take time to talk to or give them his autograph.
