ok, not what the thread was about, but what we were talking about!

Vegas offers no decent size arena and no atmosphere and this is why UFC is catching boxing, with Vegas fastly becoming inferior to Dubai (Vegas' new big brother) maybe we might see a switch in location.

    to use an anolgy

should the superbowl be held in vegas and not in some large stadium ?

    casinos in vegas
    gambling in vegas

so the atmosphere and event suffers
so the fans have to pay more

whats important is that is it is in vegas

Lets take the Rumble in the Jungle, you ask anybody if they've heard of it and most likely they have, even my mum could tell you Ali was in it.

Now imagine the Rumble in the Jungle had been held in front of 20k at the Thomas and Mack and not had a catchy title, would people remember the fight? would average-joe in the street have heard of the fight? most probably not, if boxing wants more fans on board and more interest generated then it needs spectacles, occasions the fans (hardcore and fringe) remember.

what it all boils down to is the fact that you will not be able to attend the fight live -and i feel for you.

if money werent an issue for sport of boxing, the fighters & fans across the world than yeah, a bigger venue would fantastic. :hey

    nice.

i could only imagine how electric the stadium would be packed full of loud & proud brits. and i dont give a **** who you are or where your from b/c if your the outsider going into the ring you will be intimidated.

Its nothing to do with me going, it could be held in Brazil for all I care as long as there is a decent size stadium and a real atmosphere not a ''hod-dog eating american atmosphere'' (no offence), like I said Vegas is killing boxing, UFC will undoubtedly catch boxing if more boxing spectacles arnt created I see it in my own friends they would much rather nowadays watch a UFC event than a boxing event even though they arnt major fans of either, thats not a good sign.

UFC tickets are far more less expensive. the sport is more trendy and imo will fall off just like elite or whatever it was called.

boxing is a classic sport that will never die.

It probably will never die. But I would like it to have a prosperous life than to be dragging itself along in the gutter.

    c'mon its not that bad.

boxing has evolved into a more international sport with great champions across the world. hopefully in due time they can market these fighters to appeal to the mainstream and set up huge events in stadiums & arenas worldwide.
