Views on dillian whyte ?

Why are you such a fan, may I ask?

 

He has shown to be on or maybe just below Chisora level. So he will probably get a titleshot somewhere down the line, but that's about it.

 

Never rated him really, he's a fringe contender, gate keeper level fighter at best. He has a nice jab, decent power but his technique is sloppy and he's very easy to hit. Also despite having a decent jab he can't control range at all, he has no movement, which is why Chisora was able to get to him so easily. Joshua was doing the same prior to getting caught trying to take Whyte out. He'll always struggle with guys that take it too him because he can't get out of the way.

 

Couldn't say it better. That's what is Dillian Whyte. I enjoy watching his fights, but he's just not a world level.

 

Something about him really irks me for some reason. Maybe it's his obvious stupidity and general obnoxiousness in interviews, maybe it's his arrogance that borders on delusion despite the fact that he has no stand out qualities whatsoever, maybe it's that annoying little lip curl he does. I dunno.

Anyway, as a fighter he's highly underwhelming. Brighton Bomber more or less summed up his failings in his own post. He won't ever get beyond fringe level, and with the way he eats punches I don't expect his career to be a long one. At best I can see him taking over from someone like Arreola on the world stage but that's about as much as I can expect of him.

 

I think Dillian Whyte is great entertainment and improving with every fight he's still only 28 and with a few more fights I can see him becoming a World Champion.

He's fun to watch but at his heart he's a street brawler. Let's say he's a British 2016 clone of Andrew Golota -- Golota being technically more finessed and that says a lot about Whyte.

Having said that, IMO boxing needs guys like Whyte who aren't great boxers but work up their way with sheer brute force and determination, not with excellent boxing skills. He should get an ABC belt title shot, probably gets knocked out but we need guys like him.

 

He was the best Chisora I've seen in years and I think that Chisora would have beaten Pulev but man when Chisora is landing the harder more harmful shots I've gotta start questioning your power and defense.

I think Dillians problem is he is tryna become more of a boxer but he hasn't got the fundementals required to pull it off to great effect. What I will say is his jab is more consistent, his stamina and mentality has improved a huge amount which in this day and age puts you in the top 10-15 easily.

 

I think in this era where we don't exactly have "great" champions in the heavyweight division he has a chance of picking up a title with one of the organisations.

He has an absolute granite chin and can box, so say someone like Wilder, if he couldn't drop a bomb on him and Whyte can drop one back late on he could win a fight like that...
Lucas Browne won a world title, so that's all that needs to be said.

 

Whyte didnt even win against completely shot gatekeeeper Chisora-saying things like this was best Chisora ever is just not right.Whyte has no power at the top levels,all he got is chin and heart and will but thats clearly not nearly enough.

I rate him somewhere below Takam so top 11~-20.If we assume top 10 are like : Wlad,Joshua,Fury,Wilder,Parker,Ortiz,Povetkin,Haye,Takam,H.Fury may be [in no particular order really] some of those got 1-2 fights left [or retired ? ] and havent had top opposition for many years or ever but yeah more or less.

How can you say you enjoy watching his fights? The Chisora fight aside which i thought he had just lost he has been pretty garbage. He got battered from pillar to post by Joshua bar 1 punch and a couple of body shots.

Where are all these enteratining fights you guys speak of?

 

Please Chisora clearly wasn't at his best against Whyte, people were saying he was done prior to the fight. Don't get me wrong, Chisora showed a ton of heart and fought his guts out but he was overweight and not in peak physical condition. He lacked the conditioning to finish Whyte, he gassed badly a few times during the fight, had Chisora been at his best usually about 9lbs lighter he would of beaten Whyte despite being past his best.

 

He is a character, but I don't rate Dillian as a boxer. He has limited skills, is very, very crude and is a big KO waiting to happen. I do admire his heart. Also the fact he is willing to get in and fight anyone, rather than just pad his record up to a world title fight.

After Haye beats Bellew I would actually love to see Haye fight Whyte, and can see EH tempted to make it happen too. Whyte is now ranked fairly highly by some organisations, and it would be another fight that could generate lots of interest and entertainment pre, whilst making some decent PPV numbers. Obviously it would only go one way. Dillian hasn't the skills to fight someone like Haye, and would most likely be brutal KO inside 4.

 

This generations Chisora. Won't duck anyone can take a dig and put one out (might be a bigger hitter than del boy). But not the fastest or most skilled. Euro/fringe contender level
