The guy is deluded beyond belief. Reminds of that kid at school who made outrageous claims and believed he could do absolutely anything. When the reality was he could do **** all
i don't find khan any cockier than most other boxers hes prone to lapses in concentration (and intelligence) and is very honest.thats a bad combination and leads people to think hes classless and full of it but really if he didnt feel he could beat em all he wouldn't be a world champion in two weight classes amir always gives props to the opponent in both victory and defeat.I dont recall hime ever blaming peterson.infact he embraced him after the decision and made sure to congratualte him and praise his performance in the interviews that followed.his criticisms were aimed at what he felt was hometown judging and unfair treatment and lets be honest he has a serious argument. I like many felt he won narrowly after his strong start and good finish and he was very hard done by with 2 point deductions in such a close fight. I think he should have put the conspiracy theories to bed a while ago though.its hurting his rep and fanbase but anyway i think his 'cockiness' is misread by most fans.afterall hes nothing on the likes of rjj,ali or even lesser arrogant fighter like naz who often get tons of credit on this forum and in the media khan has the talent and ambition to succeed and i feel he'll win the peterson rematch but he needs to take pr lessons so this kind of interpretation stops
interesting, thats similar to what I think of floyd, the difference though is that floyds one of the best to ever lace em up and khans a guy who got KTFO in one round and cant even take one loss against a close friend who he used to spar with, I dont think hes arrogant or poumpous but he certainly does have a big ego, all the dude did during the week leadig up towards the peterson fight was talk about how he was gonna fight mayweather as if it was set in stone, then after that he loses he continues to talk about the fight as he complains about a fight where he was dirty and got a knockdown where he pushed the other fighter down, claiming that he was the "cleaner fighter", yeah right, the kid needs another reality check, maybe a another KO could be the cure
I really don't think it has anything to do with being cocky its the fact that he lost a close fight and goes on to have 3 different excuses to why he lost. 1) It was hometown favoritism 2) I had to fight 2 people Lamont and the Ref 3) A mysterious guy in a hat altered/had something to do with the score cards and why he lost *****, *****, *****
Are you serious?:huh What about being too big for non PPV Sky? Calling Mayweather a coward? There are several more I could mention.I enjoy watching Khan fight, but I despise his persona with a passion.Nothing to do with race,I've said many times here that I thought he was an excellent role model, especially after 7/7,but then he changed. As he became a better fighter,he lost all his humility and became a total *****.I'll always watch his fights though,if you can forget all that P4P stuff,he's quite exciting. Good post at start from TS,right on the money. Khan's problem is that pulling off that "arrogant/cocky" stuff and staying likeable is tricky, and he's totally flopped.A walking PR disaster.Max Clifford would struggle to do anything with him. He's gone too far post-Peterson.Post Box was right,a lot of people don't like him because he's Asian, but who gives a **** what people like that think? I had high hopes for Amir, but he became a ****in shitehouse after Prescott.Like I said though,I like watching him fight and will continue to do so.
He's cocky for underestimating Peterson but I have no problem with him wanting to face Floyd. I just wouldn't want that fight to happen but I'm always calling fighters nowadays soft so I can't balme fighters wanting to step up at an elite level early. I would be disappointed in Floyd for taking a Khan fight though.
