I've said it before, Bellew is going to be the next Enzo Maccarinelli unless he moves away from Farnell.

He badly needs to develop his skills and defense. Farnell isn't good enough.

He will move from Farnell eventually. When he gets bombed out, he'll realize it and move. However, I hope he moves sooner and doesn't get into the comfort zone that Enzo did. His performance was terrible and it's not the first. He should be ashamed of himself for trash talking to cleverly and then performing like that.

Because he posts on forums, he is extremely overrated.

I like this kid. He's a scrapper, tough and relentless, and he recovered very quickly from the knock downs. Showed plenty heart. On the night he outshone Cleverley who for me was poor.

His biggest weakness at the moment is his temperament. The knockdowns where from complete lack of concentration and being to tense because he is far to desperate to impress and look spectacular. The weaknesses which for me are a real worry are that his Speed and Defense are lacking, OK those are two big attributes to be missing but he showed me some good skills tonight.

Bomber is too passionate and confident for his own good, he needs to realise he doesn't have the speed and angles to go for early knockouts. He has to open up his opponents before he starts looking for the big shots.

His body looks far to skinny, but the problem is that at 200 he is to small, he is a man without a division right for him I personally think 185 (or 180) would be perfect for him. Even though there is no doubt that he is probably weight drained I cannot help but feel that his body isn't balanced correctly. I think he needs to try another trainer and conditioner just to have a change of environment and schedule.

But I think he will look far better if he is kept active, if he is less ring rusty and doesn't feel the need to be extremely pleasing and impressive then I think he will be far better. I think he should be out 5 times in 2011 injuries permitting. Clev got 5 fights in a year after the Oakey fight and 3 of those where against poor opposition which built his confidence. I also think Tony is finding it hard it because up to now all his opponents up to the last 2 have been there to survive, just go through his records these guys are typical journeymen with little or no ambition. Tony needed more awkward, ambitious opponents and he didn't get that and I think it is showing now in that he is found not concentrating at all at times because he isn't expecting his opponent to throw the shots they are.

He'll do okay at domestic, European level but I can't see him doing much at world level. I see him being good entertainment on British cards for years to come though.

Bellew has all the attributes to go all the way , unfortunately he will never go all the way with Farnell.
Farnall is a nice guy , but Bellew dont need a nice guy , he needs someone to control him and make him listen and that wont happen with Farnell .
He is learning nothing with Farnell apart from bad habits .
How many times does he have to fight with his left hand low before he gets KOd.
Mc kenzie is a very dangerous oppo , but I certainly would not be jumping on the Cleverly bandwagon thinking he would have survived after the 2nd Ko and went on to win .
Cleverly was exposed last night for all his weakness on defensive boxing , all from a guy who had 2 days notice .
Lets ask the question would Cleverly have got McKenzie for a meagre Commonwealth defence ???
I think not , couple of unknown affro bums defo .Bellew would Ko him without a doubt , but it wont happen with Farnell as his coach

WAKE UP BELLEW AND MOVE ON !!!!

Spot on, how can anyone call Farnell a good trainer, he's unproven as a trainer, he's got a good stable of fighters because of who he is and time will tell if he tuns out to be good or not, i believe there are good trainers in the UK but generally the quality is poor.

Arnie is a class coach if he wasn't Warren wouldn't give him such a good stable. I was there so don't no what was being said in the corner but it worked didn't it. Who won ?????

And to be fair he did have a game plan I no but it went out the window on the first knockdown then he got a bit rash. Bomber will b the first to admit it was his own wrong doing and that arnie is a quality coach.

Farnell may be a decent coach , but he aint had the experience of coaching fighters with temperments like Bellew .
He was clueless in the corner last night ( "Christmas time etc etc ").
Bellew nearly had his Christmas lights turned off .
    Farnell is limited .

First things first thanks for the support, I was put in another fight with another guy who is highly avoided!! Like I keep sayin I'l fight anyone and will continue to prove myself as best I can.

Ovill McKenzie is a good fighter and everyone who hs faced him or worked with him in sparring has told me exactly that!! Big respect to the man.

As for the fight, I started really slow as I knew it was going to take some rounds to get to him but I didn't get the range with the jab, The first knockdown I seen it coming and wasn't badly hurt but I'll be honest I didn't see the second knockdown punch coming, Great shot and he blinded me with the left hook first!! Clever, Experience allows him things like that!! I have not watched the fight back yet but felt I controlled the fight from the 3rd onwards, Like I say though I need to look back and study it!! I was getting to him through the sneaky body shots, They were zapping him everytime..

As for the knockdowns I was asked 4 questions after both knockdowns and answered every one and in the end told the ref to just get on with the fight, I feel when I dropped him heavily he was asked 3 things and done none of them!!! Walk to me, Put your hands up, Were are you?? I answered all them!! I then ran in and the first right hand landed and the shot was BIG!! His eyes glossed over and the ref jumped in before I could nail him again!! I know this sounds stupid but believe me its very different when your actually in there..

I'll say it again I'll box anyone and want the british title next, While im not happy with the first half of the performance im happier with the second half, I thank Arnie and Dean, Arnie got in my head and the guy is a GOOD coach regardless of what peoples opinions are of him.. He got the message over last night in a way that only me and him could understand and Im very grateful to him and my team!!!! THANK YOU xx

Finally thank you all for the suport it really appreciated both good and constructive, Your all enitled to your opinions regardless of wether I agree or not.. Have a good Christmas and thanks guys:good

Thanks for coming on here Tony. I would agree after that first 2 I think I gave Ovill 1 or 2 rounds but he was still very competitive. You need to stay calm, don't give a **** about pleasing anyone other then yourself and Arnie when you are in the Ring.

Forgot to say last night Congrats Tony. Your inside works impressive mate. As you say the body shots broke him and i think the stoppage may of been one or two punches early but end of the day i rather see a fight safe then sorry. Ovil was in **** street....he knew it and ref did. So no complaints from me on it. Your recovery is very good btw. That was a knockout punch he threw...you just brushed it off.

I think British Title's a good stepping stone, I remember back end of last year you was frustrated man. Now you had some great education and exposure.

    Btw Lads some great posts.

Farnell in the gym is amazing always learning new techniques constantly studying the game. He's only young and very highly rated through-out his peers. Look how good frankie and ronnie are lookin which they will both put down to arnie being such a good coach. He got the job done in the corner tho didn't he.

I heard about Bellew fairly late and have only seen his last 4 or 5 fights and I have to say that he has been severely overrated on this forum. He's good and he has potential but he is a couple of levels below Cleverly at this point and needs to improve.

There is a lot to like about him but also a lot to dislike. I like his power and enthusiasm but I dislike the fact that he complains a lot and seems to think he should be outclassing everyone.

He needs a lot more fights before he can be calling out the likes of Cleverly. At the moment he wouldn't get past European level IMO.
