Jamie Cox fresh put of prison = no 7

Is this more of a promoter seeking an opportunity rather than a ranking body putting someone in due to a fake title

I don't personally don't agree Singh is a top 10 fighter at this stage in his career.

When Singh fought for the WBO Asia Pacific it came with an inflated ranking. The WBO will have received a sanction fee from the promoter to allow Singh and Hope fight for the title. If the title didn't come with a top 10 / 15 ranking there would be less incentive for promoters to pay governing bodies for them and presumably the WBO Asia Pacific title would have remained vacant for months if not years. The same would apply for WBO European and the majority of international and intercontinental titles with other governing bodies (WBA, WBC & IBF).

Ridiculous but nothing surprises me with these governing bodies any longer, they make it up as they go along.

It's not that much of a shock to me considering Mark De Mori was top 10 WBA

The WBA HW rankings are usually in a league of their own. Old and shot name guys without a single decent win for years can somehow become mandatories with them even.

What's more worrying, is that the supervisor, judges and referee get paid directly by the promoter.

    This :deal

How fishy (no pun) is this?

I've always suspected that promoters might be paying the "officials" expenses: flights/hotels/coke/hookers :think but it's surely wrong that they actually directly pay for the "work".

Even if the promoter passed the sanctioning bod the envelope and then the sanctioning bod passed the same envelope to the official it would at least have the semblance of credibility.
