Man, I loved the game plan that Roach had and that Viktor executed. Stay on the outside in the early rounds, put it subtle, but effective work, wear Matthysse down physically (grabbing, holding, and leaning), and then unleashing precision, surgical offense. Roach said that after the 7th, Matthysse had nothing left and told Postol to go for the stoppage. Insanely impressive performance and win! Frontrunner for 2015's Win of the Year. Viloria, Lemieux, and Fury can snatch this honor, though.
Viktor stops Cherry Garcia, too. Good thing Haymon's Protection Services™ recognized the threat and kept Viktor away like the plague. :deal
It was the perfect game plan. Matthysse isn't exactly known as being an infighter, so why would not fighting in the pocket be a specific gameplan? TUE is known for his infighting skills, but he didn't try that w/ Pac. Shouldn't he have given that Pac has ZERO infighting skills? :hi:
One of the only times I think I've ever agreed with you. :good:yepPostol is a quality operator he had a great game plan and fought tall and gave Lucas a boxing lesson. Postol will be a handful for anyone at 140 including my boy Crawford. Postol made a fan out of me that night with his performance.
Matthyse's is semi-shot and his eyes might be damaged beyond repair, the Provodnikov match was the last nail in the coffin. Prime Lucas would have found a way to win. This is true. Garcia would get owned worse than Lucas
